I thought I'd add to this post because I've learned so much from everyone here on this forum, and particularly this thread on dosing Trimix. Thanks everyone for being so open about such a tough topic. I'm about 6 months out from RRP March of 2012. I'm 62, trim and fit. My pathology results were excellent...everything contained. At my first follow up Dr.'s appointment, to remove the catheter, the nurse gave me careful instructions on penile rehab....Pills, VED, etc. She basically said, I should try and have an erection every day! I thought maybe she was kidding. I was surprised to hear about it, as I thought everyone went back to normal after some period of time. Some slower, some guys faster...The actual rehab work that was required, well...was a surprise to me. Th Dr. gave me a bag of samples, and a handful of rx's for Cialis daily, Viagra etc. I expected to back in the saddle in a month or 2. Well I was surprised and disappointed with my complete lack of erections right up until this week....More than 6 months. Nothing worked, VED, pills...Nada..as in 0%... I was getting extremely frustrated and somewhat depressed, thinking my old friend may never come back. After research here, I made an appt with my Dr. and requested Trimix. No problem, he said start with 0.1 and go up to 0.15 or 0.2. Tried 0.1 Wednesday afternoon and had about a 50% response for about 45 minutes. Thought maybe Trimix wasn't going to work. Friday, I decided I should repeat the same dose, just to get a benchmark at 0.1. I must have missed the mark the first time, as I was 100% in about 10 minutes...Wow! So far so good...after intercourse (2 minutes? LOL) and 2 hours later, I was still up 100% and really starting to ache. I gulped down 2 30mg Sudafed, 2 espresso shots and waited...Another hour...Hot shower, then bath, 2 more Sudafed, and I'm in a panic at 3 hours. Pulling my shorts on, putting on my shoes, chewing a valium...I'm getting ready to hit the ER...When I start to see a little reduction at about 3.5 hours. I decide to wait it out a few more minutes. Finally, at 4 hours, I'm satisfied the emergency is over. I thought I'd share my experience with other Trimix newbies. Make sure you take the time to get a benchmark dose before increasing to a higher level. Sometimes, that first or second shot is misplaced and it all does make a difference. I plant drop down to 0.08 and see how that goes. Hopefully this information will help someone. Ps...Glad to have my old friend back...At least I know I can still call on him when I need him...What a relief!
