I have read that, there is no such thing as a zero PSA. and why is that?

When my husband had his RP our surgeon was looking for zero PSA, so perhaps that is a figure of speech?
One would think if you had a sucessful RP or RT it should show NATHA zero.

Boogee - one reason why PSA even after a successful prostatectomy can be non-zero is that there are nerves that run along the outside of the prostate directly against it. These nerves control erections. If possible, the surgeon wants to spare these nerves rather than sever them. So a small amount of prostate tissue can be left behind - sometimes enough to give a reading of a few tenths, indefinitely. Usually <0.1. Add in the measurement equipment inaccuracies, and you get variations and "non-zero" readings.

I doubt there is anybody on here that would begrudge you a zero!
