MRI needle biopsy question

Hi all!
After 2 regular biopsies,2 PC3a tests and all negative,my PSA still rising to 5.6.Up from 1.4 3-4 years ago.The last two years with the biggest rises.
Went to another urologist who then recommended a MRI prostate scan.
The MRI scan showed two areas of concern.One area said to be highly suspicious and the other moderately suspicious.
I went for a MRI guided needle prostate biopsy and a total 5 samples were taken from the two areas.
I was told it would take 3-5 days to get the results.After that time period I called and then was told it can take two weeks.
A week later I received a call from the urologist who said the results were found to be inconclusive and he wants to do a regular biopsy in 8 weeks.The possibility of PC rises to a 50-50 chance with the follow up biopsy in 8 weeks.
He says he will put me out and take many samples from the areas.He knows where the areas of concern are.Although one area is thought to be inflammation.Lateral something or other.I was too nervous to absorb all he was talking about.That's why I made an appt to go with my wife.
I have an appt Friday to talk to him about this situation and I want to see the sample report.
My question is could my results actually be somehow inconclusive considering samples were taken directly from the suspicious areas?
Or did the office lose my samples somehow and he wants to do a second biopsy?Sound fishy?

I would expect what the uro is planning next is a saturation biopsy, for which a sedative is the norm.

Think of the needle in a haystack. The needle can pass the worst spot by a tiny fraction of an inch, and you'll not know it. He was trying to poke that long needle up and through your rectum to hit a specific target.

And yes, it took over a week for my results to come back. They were a bit optimistic, it seems.

Inventing results to cover up a lost sample would be criminal. A doctor could lose his license for life as a start. If a sample were lost, there would be a transport company or lab to blame without taking the risk. I can't see that happening.

I think it is just the needle in a haystack. He just did not hit the magic spot.

My biopsy missed all the Gleason 5 spots that the post-op path found. Biopsies are just samples of what they hit.

Tud's suggestion of a second opinion is also very valid.

Multiple negative biopsies with a consistant rise in psa is indicative of an anterior tumor. MRI's have a very hard time seeing anterior tumors and transrectal biopsies have a very difficult time hitting them. A biopsy through the perinium is the most effective way to detect them. A 26 core transrectal saturation biopsy has the same chance of hittiing an anterior tumor as a regular biopsy. There are a couple of doctors that are expert in detecting hard to find cancers and anterior tumors, Fred Lee in Rochester Mi and Duke Bahn in Ventura Ca. Both use Color Doppler guided biopsies.

Blood & urine tests are not location-specific.

Some areas of the prostate can not be reached by a trans-rectal biopsy. There is the possibility of a trans-perineal biopsy, but it still can't reach everything. The little bugger is in a delicate position.

There is a book out there of a title along the lines of "Thank God I've Got Prostate Cancer" written by a guy who was tired of not knowing. Pity us G9 guys seem to hit on the first core.

What were your pca3 scores?

PCA3 testing, although been around a while , was recently approved by the FDA in men considering repeat biopsy.
