I suspect any treatment plan that blows it's own horn. There are many doctors and treatments who advertise and push for new customers. PROTON seems to be part of that "questionable" group. It is too bad, because proton has it's place. It can and has treated several cancer types very effectively. It, according to studies, does not do as well on prostate cancer.
The problem is all about MONEY. It takes millions of dollars to set up and operate a proton operation. The operators are forced to exaggerate their success rate to lure new customers.
I am not saying that proton therapy is bad, because it has worked well for many low gleason prostate cancer patients. I am saying that there are many excellent cost effective alternatives. What do I know? I am just an observer, a 5 year survivor who goes on the internet every day to learn more about prostate cancer. So, learn for yourself. Don't trust me, or the people who are trying to cover their multimillion dollar investment. Ask the right questions.
I am posting on this older thread to alert new people and tell them to do their homework...
