Side issues after IMRT

Has anyone out there had gas issues in the middle of the night? I just finished IMRT and in the last 2 weeks have been getting up 6-8 times a night heading to bathroom for gas. Minor hemmoroid issues also.No real bleeding though. Can't take a chance that it is not gas. I tried the Gas X with little results. Other than that everything seems to be ok. If so how many weeks does it last usually. I know that not all people are the same.

I finished IMRT on January 6. No problem with gas but I had pretty severe hemorrhoid problems with some bleeding. The hemorrhoid issue lasted for nearly 2 months after the treatment! Couldn't sit for more than 10 minutes. Everything back to normal now.
PSA was 4.1, G3+4 before IMRT. PSA was tested 90 days after IMRT and was down to 2.6. Oncologist was satisfied with the results. The oncologist didn't want to see me until next year but suggested a follow up with the urologist in 6 months with another PSA.

During the 2 months of IMRT, I saw the oncologist every week. What I gathered from the discussions with him, side effects from IMRT range from none to very severe that prevented continuation of the treatment. As you said, "not all people are the same."

I'm at the point now where I trying to put this behind me, no pun intended, and forget that it ever happened. Not working so far.

Yes - gas, hemorrhoids, having to go a lot.

It took about two months for those symptoms to stop and even then I still find I had a bowel movement twice a day rather than the once a day before.

My RO said it could take up to six months get back close to where I was and even then the radiation does cause some permanent changes.
