I am 45 years old and 3 years post operative prostate surgery. The doctor reported that the nerve cells were retained, yet I still experience vast levels of ED. I use approximately 5-6 pads per day. In 2011 my PSA increased again, so I underwent 35 sessions of radiation treatment. I am cancer free, but I still have this issue. The level of incontinence was bad from the beginning of the surgery, of course I was 42 years old and the anticipated result was more than positive. I am still undergoing massive incontinence and I had the male sling implanted two months ago. I am guy with an athletic build and the doctor reports I am just to big for the sling to support. I began to wonder if I gained more mass while during the surgery, because I would think this could have be mentioned prior to surgery. Nevertheless, I am still going through approximately 5-6 pads a day. I suffered a blood clot in my leg post surgery, so I am taking coumadin for next four months. I am considering having the AMS 800 urinary control system implanted, but I do not want to undergo any further sexual decline. My wife is very understanding, but I want to please her as much as possible. Can I get some feedback from anyone who has undergone this surgery.

I am big guy also. I read about the sling at at 5-6 pads you are on the opposite side of the curve with it. AMS 800 works great.

I have had total ED - tried injections 10 yrs ago (lot changed since then) and resorted to VED Osbon. Works nice, wife satisfied and I have pleasure too.
YOu may not need it but something to consider.

Others on here have had the Penile Implant - wasn't too excited about that so kept pump.

Welcome to the forum.
Cannot help with the AMS 800, but finally ended up with an implant for ED (and nerves were spared like you). Very happy with the results (and wife is also).

Sorry to hear of all the complications you have had following

Prostate Surgery.

It is my understanding that an AUS (Artificial Urethral Sphincter) is quite effective in correcting severe incontinence.

I'm sure others will chime in.

I developed ED Post Prostatectomy in February 2004 and underwent the Coloplast Titan Penile Implant Procedure in December 2007.

Thankfully, this completely corrected my ED and restored both my sex life and the emotional intimacy with my wife of 45 years.

The Implant is for men like myself who were not satisfied with the other ED Treatment Modalities.
