Testosterone

I am post Da Vinci Prostatectomy 3 years and continue to use Bi-mix to help with erections.  I have tried other means but they seem to have negative affects such as backaches, headaches, etc.  The Bi-mix gives me a very good erection within about 3 or 4 minutes and lasts for several hours.  Once in a while you will hit a bad spot and have bruising.  I recently had a Testosterone blood test and discovered my T was low - the 200's.  My urologist is trying me on Testim 1% gel.  However, when I went to the RX to fill the prescription and found out that my cost for 30 tubes (1 month supply) was $340.00. 

Does anyone else know where this or the generic (if any) can be bought.  Obviously, I am not willing to pay this amount and my insurance BLUE SHIELD OF CALIFORNIA - will not cover it.

I may end up buying this in Canada since you can get the same product for $91.00 plus shipping.  However, I wanted to try to find out if any others have located a pharmacy outside the US that will supply this.

When I used Testim, my insurance covered it, so I don't have any suggestions for you there. You might consider injections - biweekly, and again mine were covered so I just had to cover the copays, but it might be cheaper. What I finally recently went with is Testopel - they are pellets that are inserted into your hip (they numb you first), and they are time-release over 4-6 months. I don't know what that costs without insurance either. Just wanted to make you aware of some alternatives.
