I'm using Wal-Mart Assurance pee-pads, regular absorbancy. Being retired, I am usually around the house when the need arises. I change when I start to become uncomfortable down there. I'd say I change when the pad weight feels 2-3 times its dry weight. . . they really do hold a lot and I've never filled one to its capacity. Another thing I do at home is after urinating, is dump baby powder "down there" to aid dryness.
I have to compliment those on the forum who keep detailed track of how much their pads weighed at changing. Perhaps your doctors recommended it; perhaps it is to help you guage your own improvement.
My doctor never suggested it.
Personally, I'm a big picture man. Some day before I go to bed I'll have one of those rare moments of clarity and realize that I only had needed one pad for each of the past few days and conclude that I must be getting better. I'll see how the next few months pan out. If I don't get any better, I can live with my current situation indefinitely
