rob, i was always wishing my life away when i was younger, and thought foolishly that my bucket of years would last forever. we are not eternal creatures in reality, we all have an expiration date stamped on us somewhere. thanks.

hey jeff,

cakes not actually baked yet, that's going to happen tonight, for tommorow's big family cook out.

will e-mail you soon, about the September event, wife is interested in coming to, so i want to find out again the particulars of the event, to see if she could get a few days off from work. we would fly and rent a car. trying to remember how far you said you were from niagra falls in particular.

Yup, it's amazing. I never--ever--thought I'd see 60. There was a time I thought I'd never see 22. Yet here I am at 66. It's just amazing how what once seemed inconceivable somehow becomes reality; and also how we, who through dumb luck are still here, represent so many of of our our mates who weren't so lucky.

60 is not all that old! Just wait till you hit the age where what you lived is in the history being taught to school kids!

Oh wait - those years are being taught in history!

I turned 62 on July 12. . . . . at least now I can collect Social Security. Haven't you heard? 60 is the new 50.

Happy Birthday from a three-year veteran of the '60's. Not THE "sixties"--a decade I lived through in its entirety, starting that decade at age 11.

I'm going to enjoy my 60's, as I truly think I will not see 70. (Not being pessimistic, actually, and of course I am betting my life against the odds.)

Only just catching up with HW as have been away for a few days so a very belated but very, very Happy Birthday wish for you. I am a LONG way off 60 but Jeff tells me there is nothing to it having survived it 3 and a half years ago!

Happy birthday, I'm right behind you, in three weeks I hit the big 60.

Everybody tells me I look much younger, they think I'm in my 40s but my body reminds me every morning how old I am.

A friend (also turning 60) and I are trying to fight back, we're training for a century (100 mile bike ride) which we did every year in our younger years. I just got back from a 25 mile ride and believe me I feel my age.

Ken, until I turnedd 40, I was into long distance cycling, use to do century's and half-centuries often with my oldest son, until my knees gave out. Glad you are still able to do so. Since I have been 50, people thought I was in my 60's, so no telling what they think now that I am 60, lol, too much medical baggage behind me I am afraid.
