My concern is how the pump will work with the sphincter.

Not sure whether this is going to right people but here goes, I had supposedly nerve-sparing keyhole prostatectomy 2.5 years ago and now am impotent and incontinent (4+ pads daily). Couldn't face injections but I use a VED pump which works - orgasms more powerful than before! Incontinence is annoying and am about to see consultant for artificial sphincter. My concern is how the pump will work with the sphincter. The VED inevitablly draws in a bit of scrotum, so will that cause discomfort and even pain with the AUS gadget implanted in the scrotum. And could the implant op affect libido? Anyone with ideas out there. I'm aware that many men do give up, and most doctors wouldn't have an answer because funding for research into these type of questions is not seen as a priority.

Maybe I should try. I have a diabetic paediatrician friend who told me they were fine and even left me his syringe. Just the idea really.  Thanks a lot for encouragement.

The AUS is a different device from the penial inplant.. both are made by AMS and both have the pump in the scrotum..but the AUS does not affect orgasims or create erections..

I have the AMS 800 AUS.. I believe the model for the penial inplant is AMS 700.. in fact some here have both put it.. a lot of junk in the scrotum.. but it all works fine from what I understand.

I also have severe ED and erections excape me, but when I get oragisms, they are very intense.. so the AUS does not affect that at all..

I would like to try the injections.. have it on my bucket list..

Whenever I read a comment about fear of injections, I try to share my experience. I have been using .15 Bimix injections for 5 years, with great success. It is so easy and quick that it makes intimate times great. Even last minute, I can load the syringe and inject and be ready to go in under five minutes. The pain is minimal and it works every time. Give yourself a chance and give it a try.

I have never used the pump while I have had my AUS. I got the "dual implant", both the AUS and IPP at the same time. Scrotum skin should not affect the AUS and vice versa. It is conceivable that pressure from an  erection could affect the part of the urethra where the sphincter cuff is but if does it would not be much at all. So, if there is a trade off, then you would be risking a few drops of leakage when using your erect penis, then all the other time, hopefully most, you would gain control over your incontinence and thrown into the mix as a bonus, you would leak probably a lot less than you do now when using the pump. so this part looks like a no brainer to me.
