What I meant to say was is "the only real way to tell that you do not have prostate cancer is to have your prostate removed and examined." But nobody will do that without first having a positive biopsy first.  My point was that there are no tests, even a biopsy, that will definitively tell you that you don't have PCa.

I would imagine it can even be missed after RPP.

We've had the rare one or two cases come here where the biopsy showed only one core with PCa, but upon surgery path. exam no cancer was found anywhere in the gland. That is one reason why I am so careful to offer anything in the form of actionable advice to anyone coming here with a 1 core cancer biopsy report.

Was that one core true cancer and luckily removed by biopsy or what the core misread? That's a good reason to tell people to get an second biospy reading done, to confirm what is being seen, especially on the one core positive guys.

From all I've read with the volume of cancer at the apex
A good chance exists it out of the capsule

Another thing is my doc wants to to get a shot of Lupron
To stop the growth while I figure out what to do

Don't know if he's being overly careful or not telling me what really thinks

Need to take a deep breathe and have sex with my wife while I still can

The good new was the scans were clear and the mri showed it was still contained.
But of course there was some bad news a 3cm kidney tumor that they think is bad.
Now I need to have the robot to remove part of the kidney and then the prostate 4 weeks later !
2nd and 3rd opinions coming up in the next week .
Looks like a fun summer coming up with what I hope is only a few pot holes on the road trip.

This is terrible news but on the other hand it is good that you have found out what you have so now treatment can begin. Some of the guys here have had greatly elevated psa and gleason 9's and they have done well, so don't get too down in the dumps, most of us would gladly trade for a gleason 6. Sorry that you have joined the "brotherhood" but this is a good place to talk about what's going on.

Had the robot done last week and all went well with the exception that I stated to bleed the next day. Doc said that hasn't to anyone in his last 700 patients. Oh well 2 extra days in hospital and 1unit of blood just lucky I guess. Blood loss knocked me on my ass.
I had a larger prostate than expected 90 grams with about 25%
tumor involvment. Pathology was all good though I was upgraded to 3 + 4 on final path.
I'm concerned that with so much cancer my psa should have been higher (3.8 before surgary)though my doc says Gleason and path are the most important indacators. I read a lot of stuff that says that volume/density and psa relationship are meaningful.
My docs one of the top guys in the country so I need to calm down or find a new doc.
Sorry I took so long to post and thanks for all the support

Start Blue pill when I feel a little better after stopping cilas due to bad leg pain

Was going to but decided to have it done by laprospopic next month though talked to a few people about doing them both at the same time.
