From what you've said of your doctor, I'd imagine he would call you if he had any news.

I join the others in hoping for the best for you.

David, why not give him a call and tell him you don't relish the idea of waiting thru the long weekend?

If they got quck results that were good news, i am thinking that i might have already heard the "all clear" signal, but that might just be my imagination going. if it is real bad news, the dr. might prefer to have me come in next week, inside of a cold phone call on a friday. or perhaps, they are still waiting for experts to look over the scans closely before making a judgment. all i can do, is now wait out a long holiday weekend and hope for the best

when i had the mri's done on my spine/pelvis in april, i got the news the very next day by phone, letting me know nothing terrible was found, then i got the details on my next visit, so kind of hard to tell what is going on here.

Echoing the viewpoint that it is probably a low productivity day somewhere along the chain from scans to reporting. Even if this is the case it, we know it doesn't make the wait over the long weekend any more tolerable. Sorry you have to wait.

Eat some chocolate, if you can do so without causing discomfort. I prefer dark chocolate myself; after all it IS a health food. In fact, I'll eat a piece for you in case you are not up to it.

Its amazing that with the total void of appitite I have going on the past month, that even my beloved chocolate and sweets in general have no appeal to me. Took the wife out to eat tonight downtown Greenville, and literally had to force myself to eat anything. I mostly just wanted to take her out. I ordered a grilled chicken salad, and all I could manage to eat was the chicken part and a little bit of the cheese that was scattered about. The one new development, just the past 3 days, that before, I wouldn't start to get cramped up and back aches until 30-45 minutes after I ate. The past few days, even while I am eating, the cramping begins. Telling you, I have zero incentive to want to eat at all, the pain (on top of all my normal chronic pain) isn't worth the effort.

Keep the faith, my man. Life is hike through many peaks and valleys. We all have faith that you will easily and successfully scale the next peak!

Chris, I have seen it work both ways, so I remain neutral on the subject, the news will be the same whenever I am told.

windy - true, won't disagree, but after what I have fought the past 4 years alone with the pc and complications, its getting harder for me to keep climbing. some of the fight in me is being worn down from having to deal with all the chronic pain around the clock, because truly, there's never a time that i am not hurting, and will wear the best of person's down after a while.

jeff - i dont think any of us like the extra "waiting game", when such a serious situation is at hand. this is one time, that i am hoping for the "miracle" of another explanation other than the obvious bad ones at hand. i will be greatly relieved if i escape the bullet this time around.

David, I am thinking of you this late labor day week-end Friday night. I think that you are a very even tempered individual, cerebral in fact, but this waiting in most people can cause sleeplessness and emotional distress.
I am reminded of the biblical passage where the Lord and some of the disciples were out in a boat and a violent storm came upon them. They were afraid! He spoke "peace be still" and the storm subsided. I know that through this long journey you have shown to all of us your strength and perseverance. My prayer for you this night is that you can experience this same kind of "peace" which is beyond understanding. You and your team of doctors are appropriately addressing this storm. Hopefully the storm will just dissipate and you can return to focusing on keeping your pain management regiment on track. You obviously know that you are respected and cared for here, you are not alone. We all wait with you and support you.

Purg - This is a long shot, but I just noticed this article and thought have some value in investigating your weight loss. I understand you're not on any anti-androgens but if there's a link between prostate cancer and the loss of skeletal metabolism, it could be worth a review.
