I have been on Lupron for almost ten months, my testosterone is below castrate level. One of the recent SE to manifest itself is complete intolerance to alcohol, just two small beers will leave me with a hangover which lasts for most of next day. I have never been a heavy drinker but now find it very inconvenient in a social setting to remain alcohol free without giving long explanations.
Has anybody on HT experienced the same ?.

torgeir, I have never experienced that. In fact, I have never heard of it being an SE of Lupron. You might run it by your doctor. It could be a new-found allergy to something in the drinks. Not sure. Good luck.

No hangovers, but I have noticed on HT less interest in alcohol. While on HT, one beer seems to do it -- definitely not the norm for me. Just not as interested in taking a drink.

I've been on hormones for years, and I like to have a few ( or maybe more than a few) on the weekends and I haven't noticed this......

I've never had this problem either. Perhaps it might be another medication or supplement that is interacting?

Are you still on the Casodex? One of the side effects to it is Alcohol intolerance and sensitivity

Torgeir it will be the cosadex without doubt!! ive been on zoladex for two years and can still tolerate alcohol fairly well.On the other hand i tried cosadex monotherapy for a time and the first time i had a good drink it made me the sickest ive been in my life.....its documented well aboiut the intolerance to alcohol that it causes

My understanding is that casodex can also cause increased liver damage with even moderate use - not heavy slamming either; more like meaning a couple of pops every day. I am on it right now and have been so warned by my doc's...think it has to do with a cumulative effect, (daily use), along with taking the med.

Don't drink much alcohol at all anymore so it is no big deal to me - and because of that, I have no idea about nasty hangovers.
