PSA result

Radiation and HT have a different PSA picture than surgery, so probably best just to say that low is good, but I was told when evaluating RT as primary that a bounce could happen.

I think as long as the PSA stays in the range that is acceptable for the treatment type, Zero Club membership would be allowed, since nobody will ever be a real Zero here.

Thanks 142 and ralf...good advice.  My testosterone was higher than the last time so maybe thats it...Im also taking an intermittent PSA test at my clinic on base so essentially I am doing them every 3 months....only thing is its a different lab.

Thanks for the zero club recomendation 142....My Uro told me today I may never get that low so I'' be happy with the 1 club for now...lol

I just got my PSA checked on 9/20/12 also, it came out same as last time at 0.6. As my profile shows I also selected IMRT as my primary treatment method which I completed on 5/11/2012 with 39 treatments and a total of 78 Gys. My Oncologist said at this stage of the post treatment results that it is too soon to say where the PSA would go as the results can be quirky alluding to the infamous bounce. Although he expected that it would continue to go lower but 0.6 is considered low. I remember him expecting that my PSA goal would be 0.5 ultimately before we started treatment. My next test will be in November as I am doing a clinical trial with Lovastatin as a study drug for alleviating radiation effects to the bowel. For us radiation types we will never see 0 so I am happy with low and staying close to there. Can I join the 1 club also? :)

just curious clarinet....what kind of side effects are you having from the radiation?

Good to hear you have no major issues clarinet....I dont really have any effects from the radiation but the HT is somewhat of a bummer. Really drains my energy on certain days.
