Brings me back to where I was 2 months ago. Still...

My Doc said not to get too worried about a one time increase, lets see what happens in the future. The Zytiga is just too good of a drug to give up on.

Plan - Continue with Zytiga, Predisone, Zometa and Eligard

Gigi is 8 months old today!

We were with her Wednesday and Thursday this week. Gads we missed our little lady! When she looks at me and smiles -- all is wonderful in the world. She can crawl now!

I've read many times about the Zytiga bounce...this was to be expected. The thing about bouncing balls -- they come down after they go up. So we'll wait for the new fab low coming your way soon!

These numbers bounce all around too, but you eventually get to Hershey from DC.

Next test will be better...

Always disappointing to see a rise in PSA. Something we never get used to. darn this PSA ball bounce, but, I promise to catch it on the way down next month. Hoping for an all time low.

Maybe you have gotten your fair share out of the drug, but there is a good chance that it has more to offer. Either way you are nowhere near the end of the road. Your onc will have other strategies in his playbook if and when the need arises. I understand your concerns. I'm "bad to the bone" also. Don't forget that you have an army of support here. Stay strong, stay educated, and embrace life. I'm betting we WILL beat this crap.

Hi Bud, yes I have heard of this Zytiga bounce, but I also read that you should keep with the medication even if PSA is up, because it continues to work even after PSA rises, if I find this article I will post the link. And just above in Oncas signature, ketokonazol, make sure that you mention this great, inexpensive drug to your doctor, IF down the line he is deciding on the next step. Hugs!!

Ok, first time @ da Rodeo here. It started in April of 2011 with a PSA of 600.47. No other symptoms and no spread beyond the prostate (except my bones of course). June the orchhiectomy. Psa fell each month until sept's low of 57.00 then back up. Doctor/hospital.. change and all that (and it was clear that i had castration resistant prostate cancer; & was Stage IV); a new start in Jan. 2012 and a dance with taxotere....with Psa down to the 100s by april. June it was clear the taxotere was failing and the psa was climbing fast, as was the bone pain. JUNE & JULY were my most painfilled months to date; and were beyond the pale. Aug 8, I started Zytiga, and within three days, hardly any pain. Blood test this past Tuesday, my PSA had dropped in just two months from over 1,500. to 92. I feel great and i can cook and get around again. I feel so good it is scary. Any thoughts/suggestions. it is clear to me that i have lot to learn from this forum. thanks

Thanks for joining Douglas. What a ride you have had. Great to see the response to Zytiga and glad to hear you feel better. My experience has been pretty classic so far compared to yours. Good luck and make the most of everything you do.

My husband was in a similar situation to yours - he failed Zytiga and Taxotere. He is currently on a clinical trial (monoclonal antibody therapy). It's brought his PSA down for now. Just know there are other treatments out there. It's not the end of the road.

Hopefully the Zytiga will keep your PSA low for many, many years.

As Bud often says, WE WILL BEAT THIS CRAP!

Ok guys/ladies/gents/friends. I am glad i joined and i am a good student, or will do my best to be. thanks for the kind words. I will return daily. This bit did lift me up. so, thank you again, Douglas in Oklahoma &... The complete lack of pain with Zytiga is wonderful, even if it is short lived. I will take these good days at long last. I know the Zytiga will only work for a certain time. But how unusual is my drop in less than 60 days..going down to 92. from way over 1,500. ?

Welcome to our family, sorry you have to be here - but this is the place you need to be.

To start- there is nothing that says Zytiga needs to be shortlived. Bianca's Dad has been on it for almost a year and his PSA dropped to and has stayed at less than 0.1.

The drop in 60 days - Cheers! Good for you! I'm not sure how unusual such a drop is. To start very few of us have had 4 digit PSAs.

And from Joy...as all of know in this room, this cancer dance is NOT all awful.....it brings out the best in some people/ maybe yourself.... and it brings angels into your life ya didn't even know existed or cared. New to this site this weekend; so a question? On a different and new threat this morning...i added a comment. I was careful in my word use, or so i thought. So i just reread my bit and low and behold "say crap" was there: SAY crap gone. Do the thought police change words here? I did not and would not use the F-Bomb as a general consideration. But Merde? Please tell me i am wrong. Trolls and crazy and hatefilled folks --- ok and sure, delete or block or whatever is the just & fair thing to do. I speak in alliteration often: "of silver snowy sentences" (Hart Crane).....so SAY CRAP, hurts my ears...saying crap does not. Now will these words also be changed? and then nothing i just wrote will make sense? Merde And sorry to be off topic, but as a fully grown man in Stage IV Prostate Cancer.....looking to learn and add my thoughts when i can... This took me by complete surprise.
