Trelstar / RT Journey

Hoping this new plan works. So far no side effects. One week into the Trelstar. Getting ready for his tattooing today I would rather pick them out! Pretty stressful times!
Age 70
1/4/11  first appt
1/6/11  biopsies 
12 of 12 cores positive Called 1-7-11 on by birthday to tell me.
1-18-11 appt with doctor 
Before surgery 7.6 PSA
Bone scan unremarkable CT mildly enlarged abdominal and pelvic lymph nodes
2/7/11 get a plan doctors visit
Surgery  2/10/11  radical prostatectomy. 
Gleason  4+5=9 
right base and 5+4=9 in the left apex
Invaded the seminal vesicles right side 
Lymph  clear
Stage T3b  adenocarcinoma of the prostate
Positive margin right apex
Gleason 4+5 -9
Prostate volume 50.5 cc
18 months later PSA undectable
PSA now 0.13 two mo. later 0.18.8
Just have Trelstar hormone shot
Will be starting radiation soon.

Sorry your post sorta slipped thru the cracks and down the list. First, your husband is lucky to have you as his advocate and thanks for coming here to share your feelings and your worries. Hopefully this round of treatment will do the job, but if not, there's several more ahead to use, so hang tough. Don't forget to take care of yourself during this, as your health is as important as his, if you are gonna be his support and walk this with him.

Those of us with low PSA and G9 scores seem to have a special place in the world of PCa treatment (to be polite). You'll see in my sig that I did surgery, then adjuvant RT, and now 35 months into this I'm on the HT road.

One day at a time - and each of those is a bonus
