Ok, gotta fill in some history to make my other comment make sense. I had such a bad history of pre-PCa prostate issues that my doc told me 5 years earlier that I most likely would have prostate cancer. It wasn't any great surprise when I was tested with a high psa, because I had been told earlier and because my previous 5 years results were in the 4. to 5.4 range anyway. Actually, after the biopsy, I was relieved in a way to have the diagnosis, as I didn't want to add a yearly biopsy to my doc's bag of tricks, while we were waiting for it to show up...
When I began Looking at treatments, I was ineligble for Robotics, or seeding, which just left IMRT or
open RP, so that removed all that worry of selecting a treatment. From there, it's been a slow process (5 years) to get to the stage where I may need to consider worrying again, but then it's only for when to begin, not what to do. In the meantime, I've gained 5 years of not having to consider too seriously my future. That's a trade-off I will take.
