Updates - ART Completed Finally

My husband finally completed his 35 rounds (70Gy) of ART today.

During these 7 weeks, he has mild fatigue and a little bit of urinary urgency. He remains dry and Mr. Big Brother still wakes up every morning before my husband.

Within these 7 weeks, two episodes have occurred:-

At around week 4, the internal haemorroids, who have been dormant for many years, decided to come back. It was a big torture to have BM and the RO prescribed steroids suppositories for 2 weeks to soothe them. The haemorroids went back to sleep after he has used the suppositories for a week.

Last week, his pea-sized lipoma (cyst ??) on the arm increased to the size of a golf ball in just 2 days. It was red and swollen and a red streak went up the arm towards the body trunk. The GP prescribed Augmentin 1g and it managed to get it under control for a week. This week it swells up again. After failure in stopping it deteriorating with another antibiotic, the GP switched back to Augmentin 1g today. Hopefully it can do the trick this time. We have an appointment with a surgeon next week and hope that the lipoma or cyst can be dealt with asap.

The RO asked him to return to his clinic one month later. In the coming 4 weeks, he is not allowed to swim (as the pool water will irritate the skin) and he should rest to recover.

Great news on his completion. Once he gets the side issues dealt with, life should be better. Hoping the treatment did it work.

The side effects will reduce a lot in the next couple of weeks. It took me about a month to get over the worst of the SEs.

I've had cysts before - not fun. Hopefully they'll take care of that soon.
