next PSA test

So my doctor's medical assistant called yesterday and say the doctor put in an order for some blood tests and could I stop by the lab this week.

no, not my PSA but my lipid panel and liver panel and other routine tests - the MA had me wondering for a bit and my heart racing about something horrible going on that I didn't know about. Turns out I ordered refiles on some BP meds last week and the doctor, my PCP, noticed I hadn't had my regular tests for awhile.

My next PSA is scheduled for December but I thought I'd beat the rush and start stressing about that now.

Andrew, now you know better than this. Don't set yourself up for a bunch of needless worry before your next PSA test. Just chill, enjoy yourself, then take the test, and whaterver the number it produces, will be the same without or with your worry. Seriously.

I watched my Dad get his PSA taken every three months for almost 10 years. With the exception of seeing the bandaid occasionally I would never know nor would anyone else.
He just took it in stride and enjoyed each day. Great example to me about how to approach life...

I've been following your progress, on and off, since your treatment and numbers were nearly the same as mine.

I had a PSA test 3 weeks ago and a follow-up with the urologist. My PSA was 1.6.

The urologist was not concerned at all. Stated, "that may be a baseline and don't panic even if it goes up a little."

As long as the doc is ok with the numbers, I'm not going to worry about it. It does no good.
The PSA test I had in 7/12 was ordered by a VA doc. I did about 10 miles on my bike about 3 hours before the test. I read that could stir things up a bit. LOL Have to avoid that in the future.

Hard to suggest not to stress about the numbers because I do also.
