Hypothetical question:

Let's say a guy without PC has a normal PSA.  If he were to go on hormone therapy, would his PSA go down to the undetectable levels or would it not impact the PSA at all? 

I realize that this would never happen, but I'm curious if HT only has an effect on PC or anything prostate related...

just curious...

Jerry -- lupron is used in both men and women to significantly lower hormone levels for various medical reasons.  you don't have to have PC for it to work.

I realize it would lower testosterone, but does that lower PSA?

His PSA would likely decrease.

We see this with BPH drugs as well. Antiandrogens and LHRH Agonists can have an effect on prostate size. Reducing the prostate size will likely reduce PSA.

Hereditary PCa runs in my family. I was put on Finasteride (generic proscar) as prophylactic to delay / suppress any Ca development. This drug blocks the formation of 2DHT (active) from testosterone. When on this drug, the rule of thumb is to double your PSA.

From this, I would say that blocking testosterone should lower PSA.
