I would like to suggest that a guide that I have written (free download at http://malecare.org/advanced-prostate-cancer-program/) about recurrent and advanced prostate cancer. It starts with the assumption that the reader ha no knowledge so it includes basic definitions of terms, lists tests and scans and what they show, includes discussions about treatment protocols including new drugs on the horizon and descriptions and discussions about the new advanced prostate cancer treatments now available.

Thee are two items that make this guide even more valuable.

1- It is a living document which is periodically updated to reflect what is new for the treatment of advanced prostate cancer. Currently there is a new update in the works to reflect the approvals of MDV3100 and the anticipated approval of Alpharadin (radium 223) etc.

2- We run an on-line support group for men with advanced prostate cancer and their caretakers. The 850 people currently participating have offered many items of practical wisdom from their experiences and their treatments. This guide shares those items worthy of special consideration.
