Trimix questions

Tried Trimix for the second time about an hour ago. First time (at Uro's office) was .2 mL (20 units) and that got me about 60% there. Tried 25 units tonight and it didn't seem to make much difference. Plus, what erection I did get didn't last very long and needed stimulation. Still, felt good to get a little life back in the old boy.

My instructions are to titrate the dosage up by 5 units each time until I get a satisfactory erection. So, I guess next time I'll do 30 units.

My questions are:
1. Is there a safe upper limit to inject? The instructions have a limit of 50 units, but that seems like a lot of juice. I already get a slight ache and don't want to hurt too much.
2. Is it safe to combine Viagra and Trimix? Would it help to take 50 mg. of Viagra before injecting Trimix and leave the dosage of Trimix at 30 units? Has that helped anyone have better erections?

There's not question that the Trimix is having a better effect than 100 mg. of Viagra, but it's not quite enough for penetration. Just wondering if I should try the combo or keep titrating the Trimix up.

I agree with 142 –   NEVER take pills and injections at the same time!  

My instructions are:

  You have to wait 24 hours between injections.

  Do not take Viagra or Levitra 18 hours before or after an injection

  You should not use Cialis; it’s not recommended when using Trimix.

  Do not inject more than 3 times a week.

  You should switch sides every time.

 

Also like 142, I’m under strict instructions not to increase the dose without first discussing it with my doctor.  My doc also says that 90 minutes is the safe upper limit of a penetration hard erection. At 2 hours you should take steps to bring it back down. And yes, 4 hours is considered to be a urologic emergency and you should be in the ER. At the other end of the spectrum, 10 minutes is the minimum duration needed for rehab.

 

Realize also that there are different strengths of Trimix.  You may end up needing a stronger mix, although if you're up to 60% at .25ml, you'll likely find a good dose on your mix.  I know some of us need .50ml.

 

In the early going, I got an occasional ache, but it happened less and less.  Now I no longer get the ache.  So you may find out that it goes away.  If it becomes an issue, you should look into Bimix, which does not have the 3^rd medicine (prostaglandin) that causes the ache for some men.

 

You're getting a good response – it’s just a matter of finding the right dose for you.  Be patient - you’ll get there.  By the way, my uro also had me try each dose twice, just to be sure, before moving the dose up to the next step.

Wow, I'm glad I didn't try the pill + shot method. I thought I'd read that someone on this board had tried it and thought it might be a valid method, but I'll forget that now.

I actually saw the nurse practitioner at the uro office who normally does the penile training. His instructions were to merely titrate up by 5 units until I get a satisfactory result, no calls necessary. Nor did he mention trying each dose twice. Seems like each office has a different approach.

"My bigger question is - are you hitting the right spot? Second, if you can accomplish a good erection with a little added stimulation, where is there a problem?"

142 - Right spot? Well, I'm hitting my penis, I can tell you that. And I'm getting the side nearer to the base, just as the NP showed me. First time on the right side, next on the left. And I added my own stimulation but it definitely would not have been enough for penetration. I'm sure my wife would be happy to help in that regard, so I think next time will be in bed.

tigerfan53 - Got all those instructions already other than not taking the pills. I won't try taking Viagra on the same day as Trimix. Good to know that.

James C. - Pump, plump, & prick? Haven't heard of that technique. I can try it but can guarantee that it won't partially inflate without the aid of some kind of drug. I have only one nerve bundle and it's still in shock. However, I will try the pumping thing just to get some blood in there first.

Be careful, start low and make very small incremental doses up and certainly try a dose more than once before increasing ......my advice. I had wildly inconsistent responses and eventually a severe ischemic event with one of my lowest doses used. I put needles in people for a living so I think it wasn't the injection technique.
