Thanks, Terry and Robert.

I actually googled Snuffy Myers and found his book available for $25 (plus a hefty shipping fee). I've seen one of his videos and am impressed enough that I think I'd like to get his perspective, so I ordered his book from the Prostate Forum web site.

Interesting - I was prepared to read that statins cause prostate cancer. I've been taking one statin or another since I was in my early thirties.

I found this sentence somewhat amusing: "Not only did the researchers find a reduced risk of dying from cancer, they found people taking statins were less likely to die from any cause." Wow! A new fountain of youth!

Honestly, though, I take most of these studies with a grain of salt. Wait a couple of weeks and another study will refute this one.

Did you also notice the links in the middle of the article for other stories about statins? I think blownsideways makes a good point about other cultures and their health as compared to our own where pills seems to be the answer for every problem.

UPDATE:

 

I have been taking the Krill Oil supplement now for 3 months and the arthritis pain in my finger joints is now 100% gone for the first time in over a year. My wedding ring will now easily slide over my non-swollen pain free finger joint. I have been taking only one 500mg capsule for the last month as suggested by the manufacturer and have not seen any return of the pain and swelling.
