This is my first time using this site. Forgive me if I don't write the correct usage of words. Had Da vinci done 7 months ago today. I still have painful urination throughout the day no UTI

welcome to hw, fello
sorry you are still having problems 7 months later. what does your urologist/surgeon say about your painful urination? is it a "burning" problem", or are you having trouble urinating, i.e. a stricture issue.
if it's burning, there are meds you could be prescribed for relief. if there are other issues, the dr. could go up you with a scope to look around, to see if there is any kind of stricture problem
good luck, and keep us posted

Fello,
So sorry that you had to join HW and yes you are very young. Don't worry about the correct usage of words. You will become familiar with the terminology eventually.
Are you seeing a prostate cancer specialist? It is always recommended to see an Oncologist who specializes in PC (prostate cancer). Although you are young, you will see that some of the guys here at HW are young as well.
Maybe some of the gents here can give you more info on the painful urination issue. Seven months seems like a very long time to me to still have painful urination.
Good luck on the PC journey.

I did not have much trouble with painful urination and burning after surgery last year but I did have issues in the late stage of salvage radiation this past spring. My radiation oncologist prescribed Pyridium to see if that would help but it did nothing for me. (It does turn urine red/orange.) I ended up just living with the burn for several months.
At my follow-up visit with my Uro last Friday, he prescribed Detrol and I have taken it for four days. Have not had any burning the last two days and the urgency has gone down considerably. Will really have to stay on it for several weeks to be sure it is working for me. Detrol relaxes the lower urinary tract and I think I was actually having bladder spasms that were causing nerve pain all the way through the perineal area and the penis.
It's possible you may benefit from increasing your water intake. Not fluids in general but clear water. If your urine is medium to dark yellow, you definitely need more water. The 8 glasses per day rule is a good measure. Avoiding caffeinated and acidic beverages may also help as well.
Of course, there could be other causes and your doctor should be able to help you--regardless of your age. Perhaps some of the suggestions on here will assist you in locating a solution.

since it is just burning, then the generic med pyridium works very well. ask your doctor for a sample of it. the only drawback, is that it produces an orange stain, that will stain your underwear or anything else the orange tinged urine touches. even a few rare cases of it effecting one's tear ducts, a problem if you use contact lenses. i can tell you first hand, it quickly eliminates the burning. i believe you said your urologist has already ruled out UTI as being the source of the burning.

Thanks for the responses. What's interesting is that I dont have painful urination in the morning after getting out of bed. It gets bad as the day progresses . I've tried to avoid certain foods. I'm so frustrated
