Post-prostatectomy I was doing very well; dry as they say and pad free (about
95% back) and mind you prior to my dre/diagnosis I had no symptoms.
Year later, rising psa required IGRT adjuvant radiation for 8 weeks - I "felt" the radiation immediately, began to experience fatigue and as it progressed, urinary issues began so since then until today I must wear one pad/day. Mild proctitis has also been a result somewhat controlled by fibre-con.
So far in this journey I have been fortunate and somewhat better off than many others I have met/read about
right here - but that can change as many here already know. Reading about
others here and their struggles has humbled me quite a bit and made me realize that I have been fortunate, (so far), despite the recently confirmed diagnoses of aggressive metastatic pc.
All in all though definitely affected by radiation far worse than surgery. Tried pump/pills, etc - no luck there either; peeing when attempting so not good at all...
On to oncology and casodex/pomegranate which continues. Now awaiting results of recent cyber-knife treatment (felt heat where zapped + fatigue inducing but otherwise OK). Will find out by next week if that was effective in dealing with my metastatic situation.
