Question for those who have bone mets and run into the limits of what HT can do for them:
how quickly did your bone pain return?
I was assuming that if the HT stopped working, it would take a little time for the cancer to get going again enough to cause bone pain. My husband got great results from ADT -- we got to "<.1" on PSA, and his bone pain vanished within a couple of weeks of his first injection.
But he's been having pain again this week. I've been thinking it's just the normal stuff that happens when you're in your 50's, that it's because of bending/reaching in odd ways as part of setting up Christmas stuff, etc. But he's definitely been worrying from the get-go that the cancer pain is back, and as of this morning, when he woke up with pain again, I'm failing in my attempts to reassure him and myself.
Of course I'll let his doctor know this is going on on Monday, but in the meantime, let me know if this sounds too fast to be cancer-related or no, sadly the beast is speedy.
His last blood work was about 4 weeks ago and was still good. Although 3 months ago the lab showed <.1 and then for the last two reports the same lab told us <.15. At the time I told myself they just changed their reporting standard and not to lose my mind about it, but now I am wondering if it had started creeping up even then.
thanks
