Well it is just 2 hours to 2013 so I thought I would drop in and wish all the very best for the coming year. May PSA's be low (or at least under control), may your appendages be rigid (when required) and your waterworks functional. To all my brethren who face greater difficulties than most of us, we were with you in the past and will still be here in the future.
So from us in Australia: Happy New Year!!!!!!

I just saw a news clip of fireworks in Sydney harbor heralding the arrival of the new year. We still have about
15 hours before 2013 arrives here, but I'll go ahead and add my best wishes to all for better health and happiness in the coming year. Thanks to everyone on this site for the camaraderie and support which you so generously extend to those who need a boost, something which I know will continue as we move on into 2013.

When I was a soldier in Vietnam (1969-1970), the army would give us troops something called "R & R" (rest and relaxation): a week off from the war, like a vacation from the fighting, at a
location in one of the nearby friendly countries. Sydney, Australia was one of them, and was considered a prized R&R if one could get it.
I was one of the lucky ones, and got Sydney for my week's R&R. My week there was wonderful. Sydney is a magnificent city, the people were very friendly. One of my most enjoyable weeks ever. If you ever get a chance to visit Sydney, or Australia in general, do take it.
Yes, Happy New Year to all of our listmates everywhere, and best wishes for a great 2013!
