Heard my latest PSA result -  0.4  ( 21 months after CyberKnife treatment in April, 2011).  So I broke through the "magic"   0.5 level.   Ideally, my Uro. wanted to see < 0.5 after 24 months,  so he should be happy and not be getting any (crazy) ideas - like another biopsy (?).

Dr. Katz says anything < 1.0 at 24 months is fine.   Some guys take several more years to get there.   Recently one guy on the CK Forum took 59 months ( almost five years) to get below 0.5 .  He had a few "bounces" along the way, but had a general downward trend along the way.

My wife is a happy camper, too. She had a colonoscopy this morning that was negative.

Thank you and good point. We can't count our chickens before they hatch -just take whatever we are dealt, one day at a time and hope for the best. My heart goes out to those who are dealing with bad results.

Uh, I'm not going to get my hopes up about a < 0.1 result with CK. But that would be cool, for sure. I still have the walnut, even though it may be roasted now ....

My PSA may decrease a little more, however.

Actually (FYI) being an engineer, I did a calculation to determine the average power that the LINAC puts out during treatment. Surprisingly, it put out less than a cellphone does !! But a cellphone doesn't emit 6MeV photons, either. So my walnut wasn't actually roasted. That's a misconception.

Update on 1/17/2013 :

Saw my R.O. today. Of course he is pleased with my latest PSA result of 0.4 ( see original post ). He also did a DRE since it's been a year since I had one. He said the walnut felt "smooth & flat ". Sounds good to me ...... He also said it's probably mostly scar tissue at this point. He also said not all roasted walnuts have the same feeling during DRE's - interesting.
