Well, as some of you may know, my Dad has a metastatic PC, and he is currently in the OFF phase of HT. He had his last Trelstar (3-month) injection on Feb.1 last year. Since then, PSA started to climb very slowly over the last summer. 4-July-2012 it was 0.138, then 4-October-2012 it jumped to 1.08, which I was not happy about
. In November my Dad came to stay with my family for two months. DonĀ“t know if it was the vegan diet (with fish) or the lack of wife stress (LOL) or the love and proximity of his grandchildren, but his PSA measured yesterday was.....
1.15 !! It slowed down considerably!! Now, I know that PSA test is not perfect, but I will take this now and celebrate!!!!
There for sure is hope with this disease, and there for sure is something in the environment that can influence the progress. The answer may be different for different people, but I hope each one of you with the rising PSA can find your formula! Grandchildren rule! (so says my Dad)
Disclaimer: I did not push the vegan diet on my Dad, he wanted to try it, and the whole family went along, with 2-3 meaty exceptions around the holidays. And he does not like doughnuts, so no danger there.
