I’m seeing an ED specialist and when I
started injecting I had 2 instructional appointments on consecutive days. The first day he went over the instructions
using a rubber penis. Then he gave me the injection (5 units) and left me alone
for about 15 minutes to stimulate it. I
got it up to around 60% that day. He
checked on me a couple of times and let me leave after it had gone down. The second day, after reviewing everything, I
did the injection (10 units) under his supervision. This time I got to 80%. I was instructed to use 7 units for my first
injection at home. From there I went up
to 8, then 10, 11, 15, 18, and settled on 20 units. This was a gradual process, checking in by
phone with the NP after each try initially; then once a week. It took a little over a month to get to the
right dose for me. I am still under
strict instructions not to increase the dose without talking to the NP or the
doctor first. Btw, it’s hard to compare
dose amounts between patients, because we’re all different and the Trimix
itself is mixed in different concentrations depending on what your doctor
prescribes.
My advice it to start low,
go slow, and be patient.
Be sure he tells you what to do if your
erection lasts too long. My instructions for an erection lasting 2 hours, are
to take four 30mg tablets of plain Sudafed (not the XL Sudafed). If it’s still up at 3 hours - call the
doctor. And at 4 hours, I’m supposed to
be in the ER. Ask about a wallet card in
case you have to go to the ER.
A few other points:
The proper injection site is around the
middle of the shaft slightly closer to the base, at the 2 o’clock or 10 o’clock
positions when viewing in cross section.
You have to wait 24 hours before injecting
again.
Do not take Viagra or Levitra 18 hours before
or after an injection
You should not use Cialis; it’s not
recommended when using Trimix.
Only inject 2 to 3 times a week.
You should switch sides every time.
If you have pain in the penis (not from the
needle), ask about Bimix.
My uro says for penile rehabilitation you
need a minimum of 10 minutes at 60% or better, 15 to 30 minutes is ideal, and
the maximum should be less than 90 minutes.
Hope this helps. Good luck. -- Tigerfan
