I wrote a book about my experiences coping with life without a prostate

This week a book my wife and I co-authored was published.
The Title: I Left My Prostate In San Francisco-Where's Yours?
Subtitle: Coping With The Emotional, Relational, Sexual & Spiritual Aspects of Prostate Cancer.

My wife is a Registered Nurse and I have a Masters Degree in Social Work with experience in medical social work. Our professional training and personal experiences are blended together to make our book useful to any man and/or couple thinking about, or coping with life after prostate surgery

Hi Rick - big congrats to you and the wife for getting your book published! So where is it available to purchase?

Also, I am considering writing a book - but quite honestly don't know where to start / how to go about it. Any direction you can provide would be greatly appreciated. I've searched for websites and haven't found much.

Thanks for all the good wishes. Writing the book is one thing, having it sell is quite another. The average self published book sells 150 copies. A man is dx with PC every 2.1 seconds and more than half of them diagnosed are now choosing robotic surgery. Our book deals with the issues men and couples need to know before, during and after surgery.

With regard to the question how to go about writing a book you need to decide whether you will:
1. Go with a self publishing company-this option costs thousands of dollars
2. Do everything yourself- through something like create place
3. Write the book and look for an agent

Those are your options.
