Just a comment on surgeons who do many in a day.
David makes a good-sounding point, but,
l
When I first met him for a consultation, my surgeon mentioned that he prefers to not perform more than three prostatectomies in one day. If I recall, this was for the purpose of assuring that his focus is 100% on everyone he operates on, without any fatigue setting in, etc. And he is a younger doctor.
Funny response to davidg, who mentioned that he scheduled himself for the SECOND surgery of the day in case the doctor was still groggy during the first.
With me, I had the option. The first surgery of the day was available to me, but I also chose the second slot, but for a different reason -- because YOURS TRULY is so groggy in the morning. I hate getting up extremely early, so I opted for #2.
I always thought this was funny considering that I was going to spend the majority of that day sleeping/napping, etc. LOL
