What does GFMPH stand for any way?

“GFMPH”  stands for Good For Men’s Prostate Health. A couple of links that explain what the group/weekend means:

Used as a noun it refers to a gathering of people associated (somehow) with this forum (members, wives, relations, friends, etc.).

Used as an adjective or an adjective subject complement it implies that something is beneficial to the mental well-being of men with problematical prostates.

Sweetheart I love you. I am certain that buying that new les Paul custom would be very gfmph.

Yes, means you can use GFMPH as an excuse to get some new toys, because after all, you are fighting cancer, lol. Seems to work for many of us here, just make sure your other half doesn't get wise to this scheme, or at least get her stuff too, after you get what you want.

Work for me in 2010, when I wanted to buy a new sailboat.

Worked for me in 2012 when I wanted to go on a cruise, and when I wanted to trade my car
for a new Lincoln.

littleum....I don't agree about "not to bother" about bisphosphonats (ie; Xgeva www.xgeva.com). Anything that can be done to "strengthen the bones" is necessary and the Zometa and Xgeva are two of the most popular meds that I am familiar with. The Zometa is an infusion and patient needs a lot of hydration where the Xgeva is an injection. Hydration is also a key in feeling better...flushing the system constantly is good, also helps the kidneys. .

When they do lab work on your husband, keep a check on his magnesium levels, Sometimes other medications interfere with the chemical balances and causes rises in the levels which can be harmful. I had to stop the multiple vitamin because it had magnesium in it and caused higher levels. I try to get a copy of the labs as soon as possible. The oncologist phone nurse mails them to me......because some of the results aren't ready for a few days.

Vitamin C is just as a precautionary, with the flu season and his immune system being so compromised, the vitamin is just a "happy" extra.....a vitamin B12 injection every once in awhile is good for him also.

This forum and reading about this disease as much as possible keeps you being pro-active in his care.....

Thanks Tednsal......always full of good advice. We had lab work results yesterday. It looks like they didn't check his Magnesium but his Chloride was slightly low. His Monocytes were high as was his Billirubin. They said none were a concern though. I guess I will ask them to check Mg and testosterone (from some previous advice) next time

Speaking of testosterone levels. The doctor called and said my hubby's was high (200). We went on today for 2 degarelix injections and then another one in 4 weeks. My question for him, if hormones feeds the cancer, why did he take him off the Lupron and pills he was taking when they put him on chemotherapy in the first place? Seems like everyone here ..Once on HT always on HT therapy. He is soooo NOT looking forward to the hot flashes again..

Here ya go. Work on that sad puppy dog look and the tear in your eye and say "honey, this is one of those things that I didnt get to do before the cancer and I am ALWAYS going to regret it, think we could try it now?"

Now that is something I probably couldnt turn down.....I would hate for him to have regrets! But SSSHHHH, dont tell my husband or we will be bankrupt before Spring!

Oooo, envious of the Challenger, but after I popped off my .01 PSA I promptly went and picked me up a big Ram with the 5.7 Hemi last month. It is GFMPH even if your prostate is laying in the bottom of a trash can somewhere. Pity is that my prostate always wanted a Hemi. Hate it couldn't stick around to enjoy it.

with my never ending and pitiful case still going strong 4 plus years later, problem is, right now, there is nothing more I want or need...there's got to be something I can use GFMPH for?

I will finally be able to get lawn service myself starting this season. I have been mowing yards for 50 years, since I was 10, so PC or no PC, I think I have paid my dues. after my pc, I was no longer able to walk behind a mower, even self propelled. so I bought a yard tractor, that got me off my feet, but since they have no suspension, it pounds the fool out of my hips and back, the past couple of years dealing with all my increasing chronic pain, makes even sitting on the tractor for an hour a very pain inducing feat.

I wonder if kids will still mow a yard for two bucks anymore? lol. that's what I started out charging back in the mid-60s.
