What does GFMPH stand for any way?

I can never get my tongue round GFMPH, but don't give away too many secrets guys. I don't want people saying that I'm trying it on just cos I've got/had cancer, but I'm very good at the sad puppy face. I wish my treats didn't make me put on weight.

But how about the flip side? I'm more worried sometimes about the "BFMPH" angle.

So, to summarize: What does GFMPH stand for? Exactly as much as our wives will stand for... and maybe one straw more.

Peter, you also have to realize GFMPH actions can also instigate a Newtons 3rd Law response. When I came home with a new truck without her knowledge, input or approval, the response was "Since the truck is too big to fit in your side of the garage, you are going to have to help me take all the Christmas decorations out of the attic and store them in your old spot. And if you build a new garage/shop to park it in, I want half of it to use as a art studio." Sometimes you don't really win.

I dunno Reb, it sounds like a win to me. If she is going to have an art studio she will need picture frames. That means her studio will have to have a power planer, a lathe and a radial arm saw -- just in case she wants to make picture frames out of reclaimed fence posts.

James Doohan used to say "I kinna change the laws a'physics!" and neither can I. But you can finesse them some if you do your math in a fifth-order non-Euclidean space so they look bent.

I don't have one of those, so the GFMPH justification goes something like this:

See new shotgun ....  price = one month of cialis .... no wife or current girlfriend ... beg GP for cialis samples ... HT negates interest in use of cialis anyway ... shotguns are fun even on HT  ...  buy shotgun instead.

Get home with shotgun. It's bigger than a bottle of cialis. Need more space ... look for new gun cabinet ...

And the cycle goes on.

Let me chime in on the GFMPH thread.

Now I don't have a wife to go to and pull the GFMPH thing on, but I do have to deal with rational and common sense mind.

So today I said screw it, I need GFMPH.

Tomorrow morning I am driving over to the west coast of Florida and picking up a 21' Tracker Fishing Barge Pontoon boat. Comes with a Mercury 90hp Four Stroke engine, galvanized trailer, L shaped couch, deluxe Captain's console, and four fishing chairs.

Now that is GFMPH here in Florida, where today it is a balmy 84 outside. The shrimp are running, the nights are not too chilly and this boat will be great out there scooping up shrimp for the GFMPH Baton Rouge. With a little luck I might be able to bring 50-100 pounds to the gathering.

I can see myself now in one of Sonny's fishing chairs. I have nice cool brew in my hand watching him pull those shrimp nets. That's GFMPH, oh yea!

I agree the cushy fishing chairs would be nice, bertb, but about the only work required when you are out sailing with me is to periodically go forward to fetch me another cold one from the cooler...

As an old sailor I can agree with Casey, nothing more relaxing and peaceful as a nice sail in nice weather with a great bottle of wine. smilewinkgrin

Someone (I believe Compiler) recently started a thread about Pet Peeves, well I just found my biggest one.

Last evening I received a text message from the guy I was supposed to buy the boat from. He said he was really sorry to have to tell me that "his father" had sold the boat to a neighbor early in the day and that he had not been aware of it.

Seems the neighbor offered $500 more than me and that the boat had already been moved to the neighbors dock.

I can't even begin to put into words how I feel about this new Pet Peeve of mine. So it is back to the drawing board and the internet to start the search again.

DagNabbit, nuff said.

casey - i'm with you on your gfmph "gift" - nothing like a nice sailboat. though too cold still to be on the lakes even here in SC, I get great joy looking out the window at my beloved"octavia". by the end of next month, should be able to get her on the water.

alf - we may be firing blanks, but at least my gun works and fires on demand
