Bubbles in your urine ?

Ok this is gonna sound....weird...but have you guys noticed bubbles on top of the water when you pee in the toilet ?? I have them and the internet says it CAN be protein in your urine...I dont have them all the time and never when I pee against the bowl, only when peeing direct in the water..

 Sometimes I get them and as soon as im done they disappear, these are "normal"

But other times I get them and they stay on top of the water...

One web site said it CAN be prostitius....which I suspect I do have, I know I have an enlarge prostate...

So short of a survey yeah have you guys noticed this ?? I had a full blood work up 3 months ago and ALL my tests were normal...BUN, GFR, Creatine etc all normal even protein blood work normal...I had a urine test about 4 months ago,,,,normal...

Some things I read online ( yea I know ) say kidney disease shows as bubbes or foam in urine...I dont have foam like a beer head just bubbles...

Could it be the pressure hitting the bowl? Try going sitting down if same results.....

Sounds OK based on your testing results......

Sometimes the internet could be great sometimes will make u think u have every disease possible....

Only when I drink champagne, with a shot of beer. I don't think it anything. Now I hear a strong smell of ammonia indicates something but not sure. All things are googleble if all else fails..

Your question would make a good gimmick for an episode of House. He would be standing at the next urinal and you would catch him watching you pee...

Feel free to mention this to your doctor but be ready for him to give you that look. Don't mention the Internet. This would not make him take your question any more seriously and doctors have a low enough opinion of the Internet already.

NO just the oppisite, it DOESNT do it when it hits the bowl...olny when directly into the water...check it out the next time you go..it should bubble a little and disappear almost as fast when you are done...again I know its weird BUT it CAN be a bad sign

Since I was a kid I've looked at eliminating the bubbles I produce on the toilet water as something akin to a video game... Use the stream, which is very forceful since ORP, to burst the bubbles as they appear on the surface of the water. I'll occasionally attempt to write my name in cursive in them too. I don't get a "foam" like a beer, but I have quite a job trying to eliminate what does appear. I'm usually about 75% successful. I've never heard of it, the bubbles, being any kind of warning or something bad...

Here's an experience I had peeing into a cup with the a special bubble formation issue.

Pee in a cup

Now I can laugh about it but at the time...

My takeaway from "What Does Bubbles in Your Urine Mean?"

So if you notice that bubbles form in your urine consistently, and is also accompanied by other abnormal urinary symptoms, then get your condition diagnosed.

If bubbles in your urine is your only symptom I'd ignore it.

I did have a potty training idea, as a result of my enthusiasm... But after sitting on it for many, many years, someone created a target made of some gelatin product for boys to aim at when being potty trained. Go figure. I'd probably be richer than the guy who created the rotten teeth mouth guard thingy. And that guy is RICH. turn

Seriously, I was taught about clear or cloudy. Color but clear, no problem. Cloudy for many days... trouble.

My blood work and labs were done 3 months ago....they were good then...

maybe ill buy my own test strps and check for protein...wish I could just not worry about it...so I assume you guys DONT see this issue correct ?

My vote: don't think they matter.

BUT you sound worried, so you better get it checked to settle your own worries. What others may think is inconsequential if you are going to continue to worry. A short call to your urologist would be a god step in hopefully allaying your fears... Good luck.

I think that if you're worried about it, some inexpensive test strips would be a good investment.

I just think too many variables factor into bubble production to considerate it indicative of a physical condition. For example, the water temperature in the bowl, the "hardness" of the water, the force of the urine stream, height from urine production source to water, cleaning agent used in the bowl, and so forth could all contribute to the formation of, and nature of, the bubbles.

I have to smile every time I read this thread, though. It takes me back to the fourth grade when I heard my first off-color joke that played on the phrase "playing with bubbles in the bathtub."

Quite a few of us are just happy to be able to pee in the bowl at all. It is a victory in our second round of potty training and it makes us hopeful that our big-boy pants may someday come out of the drawer again.

CVC - did you read the info in the link I posted above?

BUT, now you've started this thread and most of us probably never thought about bubbles... I can say YES, I've noticed them the past couple of days..

Even in a urinal with a small amount of water in it - I bubbled the heck out of it.

I have waited a day before re[lying to do some testsing:
Sometimes lots of bubbles, sometimes few, sometimes they hang around sometimes they disappear before I switch the light out.
But also noted that if I flushed before peeing the water also made bubbles that didn't all disappear straight away. I think the chemical block hanging over the side may be a factor.

I have often noted that if the water is soft you get lots of bubbles with soap, shampoo or just plain water.

Also once you have your prostate removed the stream is often much stronger, which may mean things make more bubbles than they used too.

But for peace of mind it might be as well to mention it to your doc.

check this out.....when i pee against the bowl no bubbles.....when you say "lots" im talking an area the size of the palm of my hand...

Called my URO he is off for 2 weeks...maybe thats a sign ...I could go to the other Dr thatfills in for him but would rather not...I trust my uro more....I would think if I had a kidney issue I would not feel as good as I do..I would have some other symptoms it would seem and also my bloodwork from 3 months ago would have showed some issues....

I feel guilty even posting here because I know you  guys have much more serious issues but maybe this post made you smile...
