Still thinking about
suitable celebration. I am coincidentally cooking a variation on Bangers & Mash today, and there is some interesting beer in the fridge. But I think I might save celebrations for Saturday when I can combine them with watching the last round of the 6 Nations Rugby. (Though if the matches are as bad as some of the play last week I may give up)
While at the hospital yesterday (and last week when they took the blood sample) I also worked out which members of the hospital staff to sponsor when they cycle up Alp d’Hues in the summer. (one person is a friend of 25 years who is a nurse practitioner in the breast unit, another is head of nursing in the surgical unit on the floor where I was looked after before and after surgery and a third works in the RT department where she is in charge of explaning to patients what RT is all about
, so she was the person who gave me all the info and showed me round when I had SRT.)
The hospital is 100 years old this year, so 100 members of staff are taking part in an annual Dutch cancer charity event in France where thousands of Dutch men and women raise money for cancer research by cycling up the Alp d’Hues, one of the notorious mountain stages of the Tour De France, (last year over €30,000,000 was raised) see:
