Hoping it's just a blip...

PSA was .02 in January and results came back today at .07.

Still on Lupron, Casodex, and Zytiga.

Crossing our fingers here, as this is the first rise he has had since diagnosis.

For the first time, I am worried about the next PSA test.

It's gonna be a LONG month.

Prayers for you and Mr WW ... hoping it's just random fluctuation.

I can only imagine your feelings being torn by the fact that it is such a small rise and OH GOD! it is a small rise!!! This seems to be one of those diseases that the smallest change makes the biggest change. I feel like I am speaking in riddles but I am certain you understand. As always you will both remain in my prayers. Wish there was more I could do. Take a moment to disengage and try to do something just for you. Re-energize and then move on to deal with whatever comes. take it one issue at a time. All the time and energy you will spend on "what ifs" will exhaust you. Today is the day we have, if he is having a good day, then take the time to go enjoy each other. Take care of your every day stuff but then make sure to have a special moment just to celebrate each other and your love. The day of the test you can deal with the test, but live each day to its fullest until that time.

MsWW, I dont think I could have said it better than Susan R. This blip could be caused by other reasons as I know you know, so don't think the worse. Like said earlier, it is not a trend at this point and if it happens to become one, I know you will find a plan to deal with it.

I can imagine exactly how you feel. I can't say anything wiser than others already have, but I'll throw another encouraging voice out there. You're reaction is totally normal, but very likely not needed. Next month's PSA, scary though it will be, will be cause for celebration. I hope you're able to put this out of your mind (I know that'd be hard, close to impossible, but I have faith in you...look at all you've handled already that pre-diagnosis, you never knew you could).

Certainly not a skyrocketing number. But it still raises the eyebrows. I wonder if a switch to Xtandi or such might stop the progression. I know guys that have switched and it did have an effect on it. They then switched back to Zytiga at a later date with a return to it's effectiveness.

Ms. WW I understand how do you feel the day after tomorrow I am going to get my second PSA test in San Diego the first one was on last December the result was 0.01 at the same time I went to Mexicali, Mexico to get another one the result was 0.00 last Sat 3/23 I went to the same lab in Mexicali, Mexico to get my second one the result was 0.09 but there is a factor that really scare me after my RP there were some cancer cells found outside of the prostate capsule and since last January I started feeling some discomfort on my lower back discomfort that started to turn on a little pain on my lower back then I started to feel it on the spinal cord and now on my shoulders.
At this point I have to wait for the results of this coming Sat PSA test then schedule an appointment with my doctor.
I understand with this freaking disease every single symptom scare us.
I am going to keep you and your husband in my prayers.

Susan R... Thank you for your post. I booked a cruise, which kept me busy researching which one to go on, and then postponed our doctor appointment, as it will interfere with our cruise date! :)
