We lost the Heart and Soul of HW today and the most gooderest buddy we all loved, Raddad .

Oh how my eyes are burning and my heart aches for all of raddad's family. He is now in that "special place", no more needles, no more pain, no more pills to swallow.......he is "well" now. With a new body and his spirit will still stay among us all, for he fought a good fight.....and he has left us all here to continue the battle....

I am so sad this morning as I entered the world of HW. I can't believe how many lives Bud touched without effort or fanfare. He was just Bud who will beat this crap. It will take me time to realize he will no longer post on my threads with his upbeat tune of the world. To honor him, I hope that continues - we can all do that.
And so Bud, we will beat this crap and somehow let you know when we have!

Terry, this is not something I was expecting, but then we're never ready to hear of the passing of someone like our dear Bud. He is still the heart and soul of HW...just in a different place but still watching over all of us here, encouraging all to fight, fight, fight and never give up hope.

Bud, there's a hole in our hearts right now but we hope that you are in a place of light without pain or suffering. Please continue to watch over all the men and women here whose lives you have touched so tenderly and deeply.

Gone From My Sight

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship, at my side, spreads his white sails to the moving breeze and starts for the blue ocean. He is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch him until, at length, he hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other. Then, someone at my side says, "There, he is gone". Gone where?

Gone from my sight. That is all. He is just as large in mast, hull and spar as he was when he left my side. And, he is just as able to bear his load of living freight to his destined port.

His diminished size is in me -- not in him. And, just at the moment when someone says, "There, he is gone," there are other eyes watching him coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout, "Here he comes!"

And that is dying...

Now that Bud’s sad and sudden passing has sunk in and I can think better I have been thinking about the flowers for the family. MsWorrywort is planning on sending some today from the HW family, nothing extravagant as that is not what our gooderest buddy would have wanted. Flowers will only wilt and die so I was thinking something more permanent like a donation to one of the prostate support or research groups in Buds name from all of us and HW. Knowing Bud and his “together we can beat this crap” attitude this would mean far more to his memory. I know he was a big supporter of Blue Cure and he is wearing one of their “No One fights alone” shirts in the picture of him and his beloved GiGi at the beach on Face Book. If anyone knows of another or better group to make a donation please let me know. I am thinking we can put all of this together in two weeks at Cajun Jeff’s Gathering as I am sure we will want to set aside some time to memorialize our Gooderest Buddy in the event that made him so happy and as some one said earlier “ginned up”  Bud you will always beat me to any future GFMPH gathering as we will never let your spirit die or be forgotten.

Thank you Bud for all the support you have provided to all of us. May you sit at God's side in peace and watch over GiGi and all your family as their guardian angel. You will always be with them.

Just joining this family but 9 months ago I did not get to know Bud personally - but what I take away from this man is that he always had a positive attitude, no matter what he was going through he was always there for each of us. No complaining, no "poor me" or "why me...." We could all take a lesson on integrity from this man - so that's how I will honor his memory. . . .

May Bud rest in Peace. My prayers are with his family.

Melg. Great Idea, there is a print thread tool at the bottom of every thread and you can do a GiGi search to find the ones is the past from Bud. I am going to print off my two threads when everyone is finished posting their thoughts and memorials about Bud and send the copies to his family. Some day GiGi will read about how her Pahpah touched so many people in such a short time and all the love we had for him.
