Well the latest PSA is 1.9 which is up from 1.2 on 2/25. Over all up from .8 back on 11/20/12. Looks like it's time for a new atttack. Since these tests are done with my Uro I just emailed my Onc about formulating a new plan.

Not great news. Sorry to hear it. It freaks me out that even a small increase like yours can signify time to change plans. I will definitely be interested in what the new plan is. Please keep us posted

That sucks, I wonder whether they will recommend ADT3 , adding another hormone drug to the mix, or something else. keep us posted and keep your spirits up.

yeah, that is a good point as to whether they will go to ADT3 or rad. So many choices these days, I'm so glad that I trust/have confidence in my onc. So much of this, even after 6 years of study, is still Greek to me. . . . Q

Thanks to all for your support. Quincy17 & keepin faith my Onc did start me on finesteride after the first increase but its only been 5 weeks. Dont know how fast of a response one could expect if at all. I asked him in my email if we should call it "ADT3" failed and move on or go another month. Waiting for his response. I follow up with my URO Tuesday and will hope my Onc emails me back by then as well. Will post when I know anything new.

Quincy17 you mentioned in another post that the ADT played havoc with your Osteo arthritis. I was DX with severe Osteo arthritis years before the cancer and the ADT has made it very difficult. I was going to have my hip replaced but got the cancer dx. I'm going to have to look into shots or something for the pain.

what a horrid situation to be in. All I can advise for the OA is voltaren gel. That's the only stuff that worked on my joints. I'm sure that you have tried every trick in the book after having OA before, huh? I am currently on #240 Oxy 30mgs and Fentora for the pain. Best of luck and the least of pain . . .Q

push your doc for provenge now. The sooner you get it the better it wors. Also you may want to consider an orchiectomy. Now matter what, my thoughts and prayers are with you. Todd

Pepsi guy, seems like we share the same fate. My PSA continues to rise by 1% every four months for 12 months now. I'm now at 4.5. time to change to Zytiga? will know next appt. best of luck and least of pain . . . Q

That sounds more than intriguing, My doc is a young go grttrt type of gal and sees my case as a welcome challenge. She has no trouble worth me suggesting things so I will copy this and let her have a gander. Thanks a million, as always . . . Q

Onc emailed me back with his suggestions. Switch to Fimagon at next shot date in May and "Provenge".

Quincy17, I really like my Onc he's willing to try whatever we can to halt this crap. My OA sucks I'm going to try a pain mgmt ctr. Hear in KC it's the winter that wont let go, temps are well below avg for late April.

Well that DOES suck, the weather I mean. Yeah, then I gues the answer to my question is that the cold gets your OA too, huh? Good PMDs are hard to find. What with you being a G8/9 Why don't you let yor onc RX YOUR PAIN MEDS AS ITS the HT that's aggravating your OA? My onc says that she, as a cancer specialist, can write pain scripts all day while these days the DEA is making it harder and harder on PCPs andPMDs to write anything above Tramadol.
I know that when you. look at my OA PAIN MEDS THEY SEEM high but it takes what it takes to live in a comfort zone, or at least near to one. Give it a thought, as my onc says," With cancer, it's all about quality of life."
