     I am using bimix 20/1 mix. I have slowly worked my way up from 70 to 100 now with not much luck. At 100 I get a 5 out of 10 and its not good enough. It lasts about 20 minutes and goes to about a 3 for an hour.

    I am using a pump to "plump it up", using a ring to keep the meds in it longer, all things I have read in here.

    I have not yet tried it with Cialis which will be my next step.

I have about two more shots left before I have to get more.

 Is there a stronger mix of bimix?

 Should I ask about trimix?

 I hear some talk about pain with trimix, is it true?

  This is just not working like advertised.

  I am open to all suggestions.

I don't know much about bimix strengths and concentrations. Trimix has the same two drugs as bimix with some Alprostadil added too.

Alprostadil is the strongest drug of the three and trimix will sometimes work when bimix does not. You should ask your doctor about trying trimix when your bimix runs out.

You asked about pain with Trimix and that can be a factor. I am not sure of the actual percentage but something like one man in five gets a pain reaction to the Alprostadil in Trimix. I get a bit of an ache from the Alprostadil in my Trimix but it's not very bad. I am a fairly happy Trimix user despite the ache. I don't notice it that much while the drugs keep me erect but I tend to have a noticeable ache for eight hours afterward. Some guys react more strongly and can't use Trimix at all but it you never know until you try. It seems worth giving it a go.

Wessy, I agree with PeterDisAbelard that trimix is worth a try if bimix isn't giving you the results you want. There's a wide range of possible outcomes and you'll never know until you try. For example, I'm one of the lucky ones who get no ache or pain from injecting trimix (I use the 20MCG-30MG-1MG/ML formulation, which is stronger than the one guys start out with). But I'm one of the unlucky ones in that trimix, even in the stronger formulation, does not get me all the way to a usable erection. Pills have not been effective either, just like with you. The only thing that's gotten me a usable erection is using a VED with constrictor rings to keep the blood from leaking out. I still inject trimix in the hope that it will eventually wake up the spared nerves. 20 months after surgery I'm still waiting.

You should be talking to your uro about the mix. What the prescription is written for is a starting point, and seems to often need adjustment. You should consult with the uro about your current reaction before refilling it.

My uro most strongly says do not mix pills and shots. You may create an emergency room trip.

I have repeatedly tried TriMix and the pain/ache was just not worth it. Also the results seemed very inconsistent. Mentioned the ache to my Uro and he prescribed BiMix. Because of my reaction to the TriMix, I was reluctant to the prescription filled.

Following some procrastination, I got the BiMix prescription filled and have been very pleased with the results. No ache whatsoever! Have been slowly increasing the dose. The results have been more than adequate and may need a bit more tweaking.

 

If you are tolerating the ache, no need to endure that.

Thanks Rocket for the info.  I am glad you are having good results with your bimix and I hope it works out for you.

My mix is 20/1, do you , or anyone else know if there are different mix's of Bimix.

Wessy: Just some of my thoughts that may help your problem.....  I  used Bimix for about 6 months (starting at 6 months post-op) and I noticed that the reaction was becoming less and less effective and I had to increase the dosage somewhat to maintain the required erections. As you can imagine, this was quite distressing, since you would think that you would need less and less as things healed.  Then, I totally gave up on the injections. I mentally accepted the fact that "that was it" for my love life.  Within a few days, I found that just about 5 or 10 mg. of Cialis was enough and I haven't injected since.  I had my daVinci on 7/2011 and I was 58 at the time and had no ED of any type prior to surgery. At 15 months I didn't even need any Cialis (but it did help).

So why did the Bimix stop working?  I am no medical professional by any means, but the only thing my hydraulic engieering background can perhaps tell me is that maybe the Bimix was getting flushed through my circulatory system as blood flow naturally started to my "little friend" again.  Just my theory. (I keep a partially full bottle of BiMix in my refrigerator as a trophy for my "accomplishment" though)!

As I have said many times on this forum, the road to recovery is often more than a year or even two+ for guys our age.  The more we stress out about ED, the harder it is to overcome because we are now fighting ourselves mentally.  As I approch my" two year mark" in about 2 months; I can have great sex again and I would have never believed that this would be possible even 6 months ago! 

Please remember, that Cialis, Viagra, Levitra all require stimulation to get things moving.  Mental thoughts just won't do it like the "old days" for most guys who had surgery. Another thing you may want to try is that many of us can get the erections started easier if we are on our knees rather than on our backs. Mental relaxation is very important!

Don't give up or get discouraged. In a matter of months things may turn around for you too!

Biopsy 5/2011- 1 of 12 cores positive, 30% of that 1 core was Gleason 3+4.

daVinci RP- July 2011- Chilton Hospital, Downgraded to Gleason 3+3, contained, neg margins, 10% involvment.

Immediate unrine control, but total ED.

Used VED, BiMix for 6 months, Cialis (5mg. daily) consistently.

Not at age 60 (At 22 months post surgery), no ED and all PSA's <0.015.
