My 20,000th post at HW Prostate Cancer and HW Chronic Pain

This is my 20,000^th  post at Healing Well.  It had to happen, as it comes after 19,999.  I never would have imagined this when I joined in October of 2008. 

This will be the last milestone post I will do, I have enjoyed in the past dedicating a particular post to special people or causes.  But it is just a number to me, nothing more.  It’s never been a goal of mine.

I was going to give this one to my wife, but she already knows I love her, and she knows how I feel, and besides, she’s never once has been to HW, not even lurking.  Though I have shared various posts to her over the years.

I dedicate this 20,000^th post to my friends and peers at both HW Prostate Cancer and HW Chronic Pain forums.

I give thanks to all those that have reached out to me in my cancer and pain journeys, and deeply appreciate all the people that really cared.

And to all of you I have helped over the years, I hope it meant a difference in your life and situation, and I would do it all again with no hesitation.

Being human, means I have flaws and defects like the rest of us, so I apologize to anyone that I ever misunderstood or offended, it was never meant to be malicious on my end.  In real life, I live in peace with all those around me.  I can only ask your forgiveness, as I forgive others.

To my friends and peers at HW PC, our enemy is prostate cancer, not each other.

To my friends and peers at HW CP, our enemy is chronic pain, and we need to continue to help each other with our daily battles to overcome our pain.

With this said,

Peace to all, for my brothers with PC – may you all pull zeros, for my friends with CP – may you all have a pain free day

David, it seems like you just posted your 19,000th post.  Time is going by quickly.  My wish for you is better health and relief from pain!  You deserve that much.  I am trying to reach 1,000 posts.  I miss the ladies I posted with in the beginning, but appreciate those still here.  David, you have been so helpful to Ron and I.  Thank you so much

Edit:  Is anyone having a problem with the emocons?  I go to use one and it goes to the very first letter in the beginning of the post.  It won't go where I wanted to use it!

A class post by a class guy.

I have always so very much admired the courage that you have continually shown in your struggle.

But there is also another quality that I realize you have displayed so well in your posts: a remarkable poise, and control-of-the-situation, in how you handle things, and how you address them. It is a quality that comes through in your posts, and is no less than admirable.

If I come to handle my own challenges in life half as well as you have done for yours, I will be satisfied indeed.

I'm a man of few words normally, but let me say that you you have helped more people with these 20,000 posts then you'll ever know. I know these people are thankful that you took the time to offer your support.

That is a lot of posts. There are more readers in this forum than posters and I'm sure that many of them look for your posts. They are, for the most part, insightful and helpful. Keep it up.

jerry, thanks, we all do our own parts our own way here, just doing mine

Michael, you type fine, I had 2 years of typing in HS, then had to go to Navy typing school, when I am in the mood, I still type above 100 wpm, comes in handy when working on my novels

ken, you do your part as well, just fighting a PC battle is enough for many people.

bill , that is what it will take, is for every non-new member (that sounds awkward, lol) to return the favor and make every new member feel welcome. like being the new kid coming to a new school that is already in session.

wings, thank you, we love all you new guys as much, we all had to start somewhere. I was the new guy here back in 0ctober of 2008, just weeks before my open surgery, and with no idea of how insane my journey was going to be. I was naïve back then, I had my dx, I thought, man up and get the surgery, heal up, be cured, and move on with my life. little did I know......

tim, for those that are interested, you can go to "members" at HW, then to "top posters", I am still number 6 out of 134K plus members, might be able to move up to 5th (not remotely a goal), but the other 4 posters have numbers way out of my range. I think there are around 20 members with 10k or more posts, so I am certainly not the only one. most of mine prior to 15k were in HW PC, but since I joined HW CP, they accumulate faster, simply because I am in two groups. Also spent a little time at HW Ostomy (because of my Urostomy) and HW Chronic Fatigue, but not that often. we all do our part, doesn't matter to me if someone posts little or a lot, just kind of a personal thing. I am use to writing entire books, so writing small pieces often at a forum is not much effort to me from a writing point of view. I obviously enjoy it - its a sharing thing to me. I get as much out of it, as I give.

Tim, many of the older members remember my story on the name Purgatory. Had nothing to do with PC or anything medical. I am a Catholic, and Purgatory as a subject was of interest to me, so I have used that handle online for many years, perhaps 15 years or more. However, as far as my twisted PC journey has turned out, it almost seems prophetic at times, as I feel I am in an never ending loop. Like people say, be careful what you ask for, lol.
