Color 3D Doppler

Does anyone know of there is a clinic in Australia that provides 3D Color Doppler? Thank you.

Thanks for your prompt reply, Steve. Since writing my post, I Googled and found a clinic on the Sunshine Coast that advertised 3D Colour Doppler scans. By an amazing coincidence, I will be visiting Caloundra in two weeks time. I will post a report on my experience.

10 years ago Dr Fred Lee did a CDUS for me. I could see the monitor, and could see the colorful regions he targeted. Rather interesting at the time, but also a bit nerve wracking when he saw things he was really interested in sampling!

I had the results the same night. At the time, nothing but inflammation was found.

Interesting too, ten years later, I have G9 T2b/T3 in that same area. Maybe it was too small to find back then, or it didn't even exist yet. Who knows?

I agree that the magic of color doppler is with the doctor who performs it. After being scanned by Dr. Bahn, he showed me that my tumor was up against the right side, and touching the wall. If it grew anymore, I would be in big trouble. I never found that out from 6 previous scans at MD Anderson. They don't have one. I realized that it was time to drop Active Surveillance after that scan.

PCRI.org is a great source for color doppler info. Dr. Bahn will perform a live scan during the next seminar this September (which I will attend). Yes, he was trained by Dr. Fred Lee, who has come out of retirement now and doing work in Michigan, I understand. Dr. Lee delivered a talk at the 2007 PCRI seminar and you can get it by contacting PCRI and having them send you the 4 DVD set. I have all the sets since 2007. Those DVDs are a wealth of information which you will not find anywhere else, in my opinion. I love those guys at PCRI and Prostate Oncology Specialists.

It's true that CDUS is not 100% accurate, but what is? It's a great tool. I'm glad Allen stated that about hypoechoic tuors. We are always learning and I appreciate that information.

I just had my fourth biopsy which was my second with Dr.Duke Bahn .
Anxiously waiting the results due to fact that this is first time he targeted
two new suspicious areas ,defined as areas of increased blood flow .I have been
on active surveillance for 8 years , with annual visit to Dr Bahn confirming the regular
PSA results , showing no PCa growth or progression of Gleason 6 in one core only .
My first visit with Dr Bahn was to validate an MRI with spectography
done by ,let me say a less than reputable Florida HIFU urologist .Dr Bahn sampled the
"suspicious " areas which came back negative .Every year since his color Doppler confirmed
that no blood flow was noted to the one tumour and therefore no concern and no biopsy!
Now , the index tumour remains dormant with no blood flow but there are two new areas
of concern .I strongly agree with many here, like JohnT ,who say Dr Bahn is the expert
in monitoring Pca with Color Doppler TRUS , which is far superior to saturation biopsy
