Wishing you the very best with this appointment, David!  You need a break.  There are so many people praying for you and wishing you the best.  Ron's having a rough week.  He felt bad that he couldn't go to a concert with me (went with my daughter), but there will be others.

Logo, your post on the first page was very nice and very supportive.

Hope for the best for you with the appt.
I think of you a lot these days as my husband is experiencing such pain. They took him off the patches and are giving him 60mg morphine twice a day. Helps a little. We are hoping that it is a compression fracture as that is an easy fix for him.
Hoping pain free is in your future!

aimzee - sorry to hear of ron's hurting. I know that feeling, was like when I had to cancel my visit to Charleston a few weeks ago because I was hurting too bad. hope he has a better week ahead.

nhwife - sorry to hear of that with your husband. yes, even though a compression fracture is not good, at least its something that can be seen and treated. hoping the best for him

sephie - sorry that flaired up again. saw where you officially posted on the CP site. Even 5 days is a long time to be hurting, sounds like you need to go back to your doctor, and get something more adequate for the pain and the sleep. not having enough sleep compounds the problem, something I have been fighting with for years

Like I told my doctor's nurse, not looking for a miracle, but if something more definitive can be diagnosed on the neurological end, then perhaps meds and treatments can be better directed for what ails me. that is my hope

I noticed that a similar thread was expanded on the chronic pain forum. I have a 56 year old drug addict brother whose life has been ruined by prescription drugs and doctor shopping. I was infuriated that a drug store would be so lax about handling narcotics, that they would allow old patches to mix with new ones, and fill old and new prescriptions at the same time without any checks. I found the CVS website and sent a strongly worded email about this laspse and how this needs to be checked closely. Is there a government drug oversite agency that should also be told about your dealings with your local CVS in South Carolina?

beejane, yes there is, in this state, its handled by DHEC, they are the over seer in such matters, but I am no where ready to do anything like that. They have been handling my prescriptions for more than 12 years.

My appointment with the Neuro-center got changed on me, instead of going tomorrow, it was moved to next Thursday, the 18th. A little disappointed, but hey, after all this time, another week isn't going to kill me.

Hoping you find relief David. I will attest to the whole feeling high from pain meds. One of my best girlfriends has brittle bones disease and had 2 of her vertebra literally collapse on her. She is also on methadone and I would never know it. The meds go straight to her pain as needed. That being said, her pain is not knocked out completely, and this has definitely contributed negatively to her QOL. I can't imagine living in constant pain so I pray you find relief.

David, so very sorry with what happened in the CP forum, It's not always easy to contact the offending person by e-mail...Hopefully things will get settled down over there, too many good people have left HW. I sure hope you'll stay...Many well wishes and prayers...

I notice that two mods have entered the fray on that contentious CP thread. Do try not to let the arguments started in that forum spill over into this one. We haven't had any bloodshed on the PC forum for, oh, days, and I've kinda got to like the peace and quiet.

walkbyfaith - thank you. sorry to hear about your friends situation. and yes, pain meds should go straight to the pain, if one is in true pain, especially CP. I get no "pleasant" feelings off of any of my meds, they either help ease the pain, or they don't.

chart - thanks. and no, I don't want any of that spilling over here. while I post at both places, they are two different worlds as far as I am concerned.

peter - I agree, I like the peacefulness here of late, hope it stays that way.

David, I just wanted to tell you that I'm thinking of you and I hope your appointment goes well, even though it has been delayed. I admire your courage and you are an inspiration to me to keep going, even though I'm not in the same boat as you, but I appreciate you posting and being here for me and all of us. Hugs and prayers to you.
