Todd, based on the brevity of your post, and your prior comments about Zytiga - I'm guessing you're in a bit of a funk right now.  This too shall pass, especially with your outlook and demeanor.  Know we're all here pulling for you - like I said in your other thread, time to focus on YOU - do what you have to do and keep on keepin' on.....

Zytiga will be okay. I worry about the side effects. I worry that I will have less libido than I do right now. I worry about taking prednisone. Provenge Did not fail. It is still working in my immune system. So far the booster has not been approved. Did jury is still out as to its effectiveness. My Dendreon Friends are really hoping that I am able to get the booster however Kaiser Permanente will not provide it until There is documentation as to whether or not it will have any affect on the disease. It felt good to reassure Mandy that zytiga is going to kick the Beast to the curb. I told her she should set up a healing well account in her name and begin talking with the wives. I told her she needs to start talking to somebody before this eats her alive I thought it was pretty coo'l when I told my Kaiser Permanente a doctor that my doctor in Las Vegas said it is time to start zytiga and he immediately got me set up with no questions asked

   Considering the fact that all medications work in different ways, or with different success or failure rates first ...... I was on zytiga for about 5-months in 2012. When starting, my PSA was not astronomically high, and it did not lower either during my zytiga. Again ... a different body ... different growth of the cancer likely ... and whatever else.

   The side effects were minimal. And I was taking prednisone (5mg twice daily) and lupron 45ml every 6-months at the same time.

   There was little loss of hair, no noticeable pain anywhere, some tiring but I think that was mostly the lupron, no nausea, no hot flashes - but, after the first several weeks on zytiga, my apattite went South!!!! And it stayed that way for 4-months - losing 45-pounds (at least 30-pounds was needed). Finally, funny enough, I tried Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream for the first time, and that got me to start eating again.

Todd, sorry to hear no Provenge booster for you but from the little I know about Provenge (all learned here), it sounds like it has put you in a good place for other treatments.

And yes, tell your DW (dear wife) to come here and chat with us women. While I won't be able to offer much in the way of empathy, I can certainly help to surround her with support and a ton of love to help her stay strong. I think every woman here has, at one time or another, had some of the same thoughts flying through our brains as Mandy may have in hers.

We love you, Big Guy, and absolutely refuse to even consider the possibility that Zytiga, Provenge or whatever else medical science comes up with will not kick cancer's butt to the curb.

Another side bar, your honor...zytiga is going to knock that down to nothin...very soon.
