JohnKeats,
Each and everyone of us on the planet has a finite amount of time to take in this experience called life. No one knows when their expiration date will come and their body will die. Confronting and coming to know the fragility of our lives as human beings can be a great gift, as it has been for me.
Read a book, share your life story, fall in love - all great things for every human to do because we all have a limited time to take in this experience.
As a brife aside, to illustrate the point, I am six months out from my surgery and while still scoring zeros, I am keenly aware that my prognosis from my medical team was/is challenging. So while I deal with that, some moron in a truck droped a 6 foot long hunk of steel in front of my car last night. My car is a mess with a giant piece of steel sticking out of the gas tank. No fire and no injuries, but as the fireman said to me, "You were very lucky tonight!"
So, while we talk of cancer here, everyone on the planet is on the clock - one that we don't know when it will stop. Mine didn't stop last night, although it could have been (and still could be someday) that feak accident that takes us, not the cancer we deal with here.
Take care of yourself and find your peace,
Pat
