Some of us guys are too cheap to spring for Depends and the off-brands do tend to crackle when you sit so nobody will hear your pants.

Ms. WW: snap, crackle pop - reminds me of the noises my back makes when I do my morning back exercises! Just so ya know: I won't be wearing anything with sequins.

We've made our hotel arrangements as well as arranging for our cats' care while we're gone. We're ready to rock and roll. Should be arriving in the Rochester area late afternoon/very early evening on Thursday. Hold a couple of bar stools for me and the hubby, please.

Cajun Jeff and Pat: believe me, you guys aren't nearly as excited as we are! As I told Sonny and Worried Guy, I'm looking forward to a huge group hug from "my guys".

We are booked for Friday 27 till Sunday morning, hope to be at Jeff's by 5:00 the latest.

Sonny, I hear you...we''ll only be gone 4 days and I'm already making a list of what I need to do, instructions for our cats' care, making sure the house is clean 'cause God forbid that anyone should come into my house and not think "wow, what a great housekeeper this woman is!". I gotta get a life...

Cajun Jeff - your 1500 mile trek is a little longer than mine (about 1300) and I have never driven an RV. So keep practicing driving the beast to prep for the 1500 miles.

Doesn't mean I could not tailgate off you though to save on gas:}.

By yours and Sonny's standards, my Explorer is a midget. We already did our prep by driving from FL to San Jose CA in May and back in July, then a shorter hop to DC and back for the wedding of daughter's college roommate first week of August.

Sonny said something about he and Sherry spending a few days in Atlanta with family starting on the 16th and then linking up with you, Bayou Jackal and the Worry Warts a few days later.

I will get the particulars when Karen and I meet with Sonny & Sherry later this month somewhere near Orlando.

At this point we are scheduled to stay in Charlotte NC on Sept 24th about 500 miles in and Wheeling WV on the 25th another 450 miles arrivng in Rochester on the 26th, 350 miles or so for a total of about 1300.

As retirees can be flexible. Would depend on how many days earleir we would have to leave.

I still have a bunch of hotel points from when I travelled every week from 1998 to 2005. So would just have to find a Hilton or a Marriott somewhere near your RV camp each night along the trail.

We are staying at the Homewood Suites in Rochester/Greece Sept 26-30, which is only a third of a mile from hotel Jeff G mentioned some folks stayed at in past years.
