Casey's Wedding

Congratulations to Casey and his bride. Best wishes coming your way.

Thank you, everyone, for the very kind wishes.  It is very kind of all of you to send your hopes, support, and love our way.

 

The wedding is this afternoon (Saturday), and I have a few moments of quiet before the storm.  The wedding will be in the back yard, and the weather looks beautiful.  Highs in the upper 70s, and 0% chance of rain.  We couldn't have asked for better...in fact, this is exactly what we asked for.

 

There was a request for photos...this one LINK is from the back yard during yesterday's (Friday) set-up.  Dinner and dancing under the large tent; band set up under the smaller tent next to the house; the ceremony will be in the chairs in the foreground.

I remember you showing us how you two had planned the backyard scene. This looks just like you described it back in early June. Beautiful. Ruth and I wish we could have been there for this. She sends her love.

Southern Comfort

The newlyweds will be maintaining a low profile for a while…but I thought I’d send along a pic (the first I’ve received).   (Photographer’s pics won’t be available for several weeks.) Our goal was to have what would be remembered by our friends as the best party of the year …and I think we were successful.   Everything went beautifully—weather was great, food was great, jazz trio was great, the company was great, the drinks were great (and flowing!)…everything was great.   A friend texted me this photo LINK of us from his seat while we exchanged vows.

I'll be back for SWOG October 9-14. Don't know the schedule yet. I know I have a couple dinners to attend with the committees. But I know I'll have a couple nights too. If you and Mrs. C., or is that Mrs. Sey? Well if you kids wanna get out it's my turn.

Yooper ~ note those dates. I know you are in the vicinity as well as any HW buddy that might want to hook up in Chicago. It's all work during the days for me but a couple evenings can get freed up.

Tony, you don’t think she’s short??   I do; but then again I think you’re short, too…so maybe it’s just perspective from 6’4”.    Of course, her 4” heels helped…   As requested, I’ve already posted a few pics from the wedding a week & a half ago which were from a couple friends’ phone cameras.   Based on the number of “hits” on those links, there has been a lot of interest in how the day went…let me just say it went great.   Another friend sent me these (below; plus many more, almost 200 total) shots from the day which I’ve turned into clickable links.   Her camera was quite a step-up from the phone camera shots. The aisle .   Notice the bike theme under the tree; we became (re-)acquainted through mutual friends who got us together for bike rides.   Fire pit in the background.   Also notice the lanterns (lit) above and in the background; had about 20 hanging from the trees, which were especially nice when it got dark out.   The tent, and the dance floor . The bar .   Two bartenders; 8 servers in all. The buffet . Just after the “I do.” Cocktail hour . The band .   See the chandelier we hung from their tent?
