I don't mean to sound so cynical but I just can't see the merits of debating the politics of screening in this particular house.

"overwhelmingly rejected".  then why persist?  you've always claimed to love this board yet you are tearing it apart.  this isn't the place for your beliefs.  

let's get back to what we do and that's help the guy who has cancer, a thousand questions and is scared out of his wits.

Hi, I am starting out on this journey with my hubby who has just been diagnosed with PC Gleason score 9 (4+5)
So far he has had the bone scan and MRI is tomorrow....so we don't know yet what exactly we are dealing with.
This forum is a lifeline and Thankyou all for the frank and enlightening discussion.
No doubt I am going to become an expert.....but at this stage I am floundering. Hubby has gone off white baiting ( denial I think )while I navigate the sea of information looking for the options so that we are at least a little informed when we get the next round of results.
It is amazing how many people, in all walks of life, that I am meeting with PC. All are very willing to talk about their journey which has been great....but....most don't know all the details. I'm interested in the details and for that...this forum is a godsend.
After the initial "knee jerk" reaction to the diagnosis.....life has taken on a whole new meaning. The old boy has always wanted another motorbike....that arrives next week. For those that appreciate old bikes....it is a 1966 BSA Lightning.....in great order....all original. It's 40 years since he last had a bike and I figure it will be a powerful motivator for him to get on top of this disease.
I look forward to learning a lot from so many wonderful sharing survivors. Thankyou

PCa won't kill him, but please be careful on that bike!

What are you guys leaning towards?

I suspect a Mod will start your new thread any minute so don't mind if I ask again.

You got right to the heart of it, and while using other words than my own repetitive message, HW PC is first and foremost a peer to peer support site, even though we embrace the "bit tent" approach. These endless academic and highly opinionated debate threads offer nothing in either advice or support for those in actual need of PC related help.
