Help for friend-blood after Bx

Hi all - looking for some help for one of my closest friends....

He had a 14-core biopsy on Monday, and hasbeen dripping blood tthrough his penis since getting home. He's in ER and being checked out.

Has anyone heard of this? He's scared and I don't know how to help.....

Hey, Yooper.  Like most guys, I had some blood in my urine after the biopsy for a few days, but by that I don't mean blood-red urine, just pinkish in color.  Like you, I'd be concerned about a bloody discharge from the penis.  I hope all works out well.

Most biopsies are supposed to be placed where they miss the urethra and some main arteries.

Sounds like they hit it.

It should heal but he's doing the right thing by being in the ER. Just play it safe.

Hey Clock and Tony, good hearing from you guys and thanks much for the input.

I'm also hoping they nicked an artery and it's nothing more.

He just let me know they removed the tube they placed and it appears the dripping has stopped.

Well that's sure not fun. Let's hope he's compensated for the trip to ER by having a clean biopsy!

Glad he went to the ER and it looks like it's better.

I have had 2 biopsies now, and had blood for about 2 days on the first and 5 days on the second. Usually, the blood would come to the end of my penis and stay there, so it looked worse than it was, and seemed I must have been bleeding every time i peed. But I didn't have constant dripping of blood, so I'm glad he went to the ER.

Glad to know the bleeding has stopped.

MichaelT, Greg and all thanks again for weighing in. I just talked to him and so far so good. When the catheter was taken out some urine and am blood clots came out. He's p'd since then and it came out normal color and no issues.

Hoping that's it - now the waiting for results.
