Re "A few years of AS", - My GP was waiting for the PSA reading to spike up, which it never did, although it did double year-over-year, twice. With the advent of the Free PSA test, and resulting borderline readings, I requested an appt. with a urologist. The urologist agreed with my request for a biopsy, not so much based on my numbers but on the fact my father had PC surgery at 68 years of age. I am glad I pushed for the biopsy as it appears the cancer was caught before it spread.

Yes, we have a lot in common, similar PSA's, surgery dates, both organ confined and both left nerve bundle spared. The big difference is the side effects, my "Willy" is still on vacation and I'm still almost 100% incontinent. I hope you are the exception to the rule at 99% continent and 40% life in Willy so early in your recovery. I will be looking for improvement in the next few months as my catheter has only been out 9 days. If I have to put up with pads and some sort of assistance for Willy on a permanent basis then that's my choice for wanting to get the cancer out.
